@Dev_VKC is it that hard to implement that all Monsters in test your team section would be +9 with 100% stats and not any lower than that? For us to PROPERLY test stuff.

One way to cheese it is to put all of the slow frontline mons at +0 speed entrance. Then it works way more often.

Now I can see it slow down the meta quite a bit. Especially those fast setups like Nova AoE, Mantif Prix, Azida + high speed Dragons, Maeve Iris Capy etc.

This also works the other way around. You can just put the slowest one from your frontline to +0 to prevent enemy from pulling off this team turn.

I’ve only written my gut reaction here which is that it’s really bad because you need an extremely specific team to make it consistently good.

However, I think I focused too much on it working, rather than thinking about how best to run it. The best way is probably to run it like Nyx with monsters below 50% speed and focus on making them be a strong setup so then in a lot of matches all you do is shield the team at the start but against anyone with all 50%+ speed monsters you will harshly counter them.

The two problems (in my eyes) are firstly that you need a way to remove it and secondly, I know from running Nyx a bunch, there are lots of teams where at least one enemy (often two) will be lower than 50% speed. So it may be too inconsistent that it’s simply not worth running. But I could be very wrong, perhaps the shields on your team will be useful in a lot of those match ups.

In many ways it’s a fairer Nyx. It punishes what it’s meant to punish.

There will be a shrine during anniversary but unfortunately I don’t think there’s time for an additional one in the meantime… I have 461 gems too :rofl:

Trust me, it’s stronger than people think. The TU pushback means a strawbaba gets a turn before anything but a 90%+ speed enemy, meaning you can run the slowest possible units and make it nearly uncounterable without forcing the enemy team to run something that makes all other battles a 3v4

I see what the devs are trying to do with this monster and try to counter fast FLs, but again, you are put in a position where you either have to go ultra fast to outspeed it or you have to go ultra slow to counter it.
Same problem we had with Nyx. It punishes anyone running a reasonable speed FL. Why are you going to run monsters with 50-70% speed if you are just going to get destroyed the same way as someone running 4x 99% speed monsters. Also, whenever you run into someone not using either Nyx or this guy, you will get crushed by their much faster FL. It’s counterproductive.

The last few monsters released are all ultra fast. I don’t understand exactly How that’s supposed to help the issue. If anything, it makes me want to run fast FLs even more.

Yeah, the more I’ve thought about it the more I’m coming around.

To further what I last said, I think what you can do is actually play monsters that are not literally the lowest speed ones in the game but change their entrance speed to be +0 and they will go behind opponents with lower speed monsters that have bonus. Sure, there will be some newer players you meet that also have +0 bonus but most likely when you’re playing the tough matches they will be with bonus.

So I reckon it’s probably relatively easy to get the shriek to work and to have a strong team with it. However, you do need to have the right monsters that can properly take over a match in the one turn they each get. Plus also there’s the fact the Mortilys isn’t a monster you really want sticking around on the battlefield so you probably need one of the other three to be able to send it back.

An example of a funny setup would be: Mortilys, Aethereon, TT, Backstab monster. So you shriek, time warp + backstab Mortilys then TT.

I’ll have to look at what speed you can get away with at +0 bonus vs what you assume your opponents’ lowest speed monster will be at +9. The fact we can adjust monster entrance so drastically at the lower speeds does make me worry a bit about the design of Mortilys… maybe it will actually be too consistent it’s pretty broken.

If you have him, test it out. The problem I see is if I’m running 3 sub 23% speed and adjust my bonuses to all 0+, I’m nearly guaranteed to shriek unless the opponent uses something somewhat viable below that speed, with no bonuses. Which is like a small few units in any team that isn’t nyx/flower. But in doing that they will suffer against all the other teams cuz no bonus+ slow speed makes the battle a 3v4 in most other scenarios

You’ll also see that 60 is too much pushback. It lets you get away with the slowest units making the shriek nearly always usable and all the slow units getting turns before the pushed back fast units. 45-50 would be better imo, or make it scale off speed so it sets all units back to the same number, punishing slower unit like 30-60 Range less than it does now
