💭 Monster Design Ideas Mega Thread 💭

I find it very strong. Hard for me to say whether it’s not a problem among top players— in particular the dolphoone killing balanchion is a strat I find very difficult to counter. I’m curious to hear how others have handled.

Those Balancion teams are very RNG dependent and very often fail when faced against fast frontlines / kb setups. So it’s not as broken as you think it is.

Balancion is definitely a strong tool for backstab that I haven’t seen utilised well much yet. I think it has high potential.

However, in FL setups I think the issue is that you’re basically putting yourself down two monsters to use it (Balancion + backstab monster) so you need to be getting a lot from the other two monsters. To fulfil all you want from a FL I think it often means you end up being open to disruption / fast FLs (as Coltraz says above) or just using it as an RNG value play rather than fully utilising the shield and the control the sleep can give you. It’s too risky to play, say, crescendo monsters thinking the enemy team will all be asleep.

Dolphoone for the setup is a good one because it’s got a low TU cannibalise and good speed so it does what you want then follows up with a retribution. However, it does lack damage on retribution unless you have other dolphins so you’re either forcing yourself into a restrictive build of the setup or you’re not going to be able to kill opponents with tanky monsters (like a lot of the mythics) very well. Additionally, lots of the retribution monsters don’t do enough damage to kill tanky monsters so those retribution setups don’t play quite as well facing top teams.

If you’re not playing tanky monsters, a fast monster that can disrupt/kill a backstab monster and are fairly open to sleep I can see how a Dolphoone + Balancion combo will be really deadly. It’s definitely a strong one when things go well, but it’s at least still RNG-based so to play with it you’re not only hoping for a good matchup but also relatively good RNG… so you’ll struggle to have a really high win rate with it.

Hey @DMGInterference if you have time can you do the 5* Haniwel in digital?

Ok! From tomorrow, I’m gonna be away from my PC for a week, but as soon as I come back (and finish my first Smaugust submission) I’ll get to it, shouldn’t take long!

Warning: if the clothes look awkward, it’s because I put them afterwards. The “naked” version is also SFW, but I don’t know this forum’s policies that well
