Lucrayzor’s Abbreviation Legend II

This is from an old dead thread, quoted from Lucrayzor:

Here you go:
Aoe- Area of effect. It means a basic attack that hits all 4 enemies. (blaze, wave, thunder, quake, dusk, and nova)
AP- Auto protector. These monsters recently made a splash with a notorious new strategy dubbed “AP spam”, which simply means loading your team up with APs in a bid to sustain your key monsters as long as possible. This prompted the devs to add Twighoul, an extremely hard counter to protectors, as well as grant several skills the ability to ignore protectors. Not to be confused with auto poisoners.
AP- Auto poisoner. Refers to a monster with auto poison, and sometimes chance auto poison. You’re less likely to see this one since they aren’t as relevant as auto protectors. Examples: Flarevern, Tiamazus, Omegasdragon, Oakthulhu, Freezecobra, Vulcavenus, Vulcaroth, and AS Boison.
AT/AW- Assisted Thunder or Water. Refers to a lineup featuring only a single element in order to maximize the damage of assisted moves. Way less common than it used to be, and at this point all 6 elements have reasonable potential in this regard.
BB- Black Beast, a.k.a. Delugazar. This is what Delu was referred to as in the Online Mission story arc prior to his reveal. Some members of the community continue to call him BB just out of preference.
DA- Desperate All, Nightrider’s signature move. (Galliodragon can use it too, however.) Usually this refers to the (not so) common strategy that involves flipping his health into red on purpose in order to sweep at an incredible pace.
DC- Dungeon Challenge, the event where you must trek through a series of random encounter battles without being able to heal in between.
DD- Desperate Double. Mostly used to refer to the Super epics with the move, which includes Titanwolf, Ventokaizer, Gaiakaizer, Pyrokaizer(don’t get these guys confused with Hydrokaizer, he has a different moveset for some reason), Blightwyrm, Pegassiah, and also arguably Cryogolem and Lordsreign. These monsters prove useful in the Dungeon Challenge since they can rapidly kill enemies with Desperate and can be kept safe by Hold Ground.
DR- Death Revenge, kills a random enemy upon death, but can be thwarted by shields or hold ground. There’s only a small amount of monsters in the game with this passive, most of them being legendaries, and there’s a lot of ways to utilize this skill in pve, so it’s pretty significant. It has a notable counterpart in Payback Revenge, which always kills the monster that killed the user even if it’s an ally. It also has a brutal counter, payback killer, that specifically targets DR monsters, ignoring hg and shields and nullifying their revenge effect.
DSA- Death Sentence All, Soulstealer’s signature move. See SS below for more info on this move.
F2P- Free to Play- Means a player that has not spent any money on the game except for the initial 1$.
FL- Frontline. It consists of the 4 monsters in your team that enter the field at the very beginning of the match. Needless to say, the monsters you choose to put in those first 4 slots are a major point of interest when team building. The 5th monster in line plays a key role too since it’ll be the very first replacement, not to mention some strategies utilize moves such as cannibalize or sendback in order to quickly trigger the 5th mon’s entrance effect.
GF- The Godfeather. This monster was once notorious for his move Last Bite(Last Stand, except it heals you), which can render fights against ai controlled teams completely effortless. Nowadays though, many counters exist, mostly notably poison and piercing options, so the rampage is laughably easy to avoid. Dragaia has this move as well, and Ashterios is capable of something very similar.
GT- Refers to monsters with the move Give Turn. It is a highly potent support move if used correctly, but watch out for Chrono Killers.
IC- Island Challenge, the event where you draft random monsters 3 at a time and build the best team you can with what is given to you. The perfect event for those who have a strong knowledge of the game, but are stuck with a lackluster monster pool.
IGN- in game name
KB- Knock back, sends a chosen enemy to the back of the enemy queue.
KBN - Knock back next, sends the monster that’s currently up next in the enemy queue straight to the back.
KBR - Knock back random, sends a chosen enemy back to a random spot in the enemy queue.
NR- Nightrider. See DA above for more info on this monster.
OoO- One-on-one, a move that puts all allies to sleep as well as 3 randomly chosen enemies. Can also refer to a monster with the move, or the strategy that involves pairing this move with one or more sleep immune allies(it’s extremely hit-or-miss by nature). Most notable examples are Oniblade and Stratustrike.
OP- Overpowered, a monster that is extremely powerful to the point where it has a detrimental impact on the game balance and must be weakened in order to restore it. Some prominent examples of this from the past are Deathgazer, Chronozeros, multiple successive Team Turns, and Ziberius + Rexkong.
P2W- Pay to Win, the opposite of Free to Play.
PvE- Player versus Enviroment. Every single event and mission in the game except for pvp falls into this category. The ai is predictable and has a very superficial understanding of the mechanics, and the enemy’s stats are often manipulated(a phenomenon we call “buffs”, not to be confused with the sort of buffs a weak mon would receive from an update) to compensate for it. This gives the spotlight to specific monsters that can combat the buffs by either dishing out incredible damage(Dreamhunt/Megabomb), insta-killing(Death Sentence/Death Revenge), or snatching an enemy recruit to turn their power against them(Necromancy/Mirror Revenge).
PvP- Player versus Player. What it sounds like.
RNG- Random Number Generator, refers to when the game makes a random decision on moves such as poison gas, death revenge, and various sleep skills.
SCB- Super Challenge Battle, the event where you play 3 very difficult battles up to two times each in order to get big rewards. This event is used to showcase brand new/returning legendary/mythic monsters, always coinciding with an egg event. You also get a sort of free trial to see the featured monsters in action; no cost or reward involved.
SE- Super epic, any monster with 5 stars in its final form. The 4 starters and some 3 star island monsters can skip straight up to this tier thanks to new forms they’ve been granted in past updates.
SOTF- Survival of the Fittest, the event where you face off with ai teams whose stats are gradually increased as you go on. Has gone through several overhauls, often features unique rules to shake things up.
SS- Secret skill, an additional unlockable move that all legendaries and mythics have access to. Not to be confused with Soulstealer.
SS- Soulstealer, a monster that was once infamous on the frontline for abusing Sleep All and was often paired with monsters like Frostrider and Diredemon in order to help trigger Death Sentence All. Not to be confused with secret skill.
ST- Showdown Tower, the event where you must collect badges to progress, but be very careful lest you end up losing them.
TA- Time Attack, the event where you take on relatively weak enemies, but must clear them all out under an increasingly harsh time limit. Volatile moves such as poison massacre, megabomb and assisted attacks are the key to bringing a swift end to the fight.
TK- Twinkiller. Means any monster with a pair of “killer” moves, most commonly Protector Killer and Sleep Killer. This most often refers to the legendary Twinkillers Kamiwyrm, Shadowyrm and Tridrakhan, but there are also 6 super epic Twinkillers and 4 epic ones. More recent examples include Chromera, Cyclozar(technically a ”quad killer”), Scarleguard, and Dragulus.
TT- Refers to monsters with the move Team Turn. This consists of Alphagear, Zephyrox, Lavaronix, Mechaviathan, Midasdragon, Thlug Billy, and AS Feryvast. The move has sustained countless nerfs all throughout the game’s lifespan, and while undeniably useful, is far from the juggernaut it used to be.
TU- Time Unit, aka seconds.
UC- Ultimate Challenge, the event where you face teams whose stats are increased to enormous proportions. Workarounds are an outright requirement if you plan to get far.
WT- Whale’s Treasure, the event where you fight elemental buffed battles to earn money buy specific rewards. Notably the only event besides pvp where 6 star tickets are available.

Other helpful terms:
Buff– to make a weak monster stronger. (Not to be confused with the “buffs” that are commonly utilized in pve in order to level the playing field)
Nerf– to make an OP (overpowered) monster weaker

I added BB & Mal since they are talked about so much but could be interesting to expand this to include other monsters that are typically referred to by abbreviations. I also included an ‘other helpful terms’ section.

Happy to edit if I missed something that should be included.

Thanks for reviving this! It’s one of the threads I forgot to link from my guides thread. When I first came to this forum I had no clue what people were talking about and felt very alienated. It’s such a useful resource for newcomers.

KB for knockback (KBR, KBN for knockback random, knockback next, these are optional) has been used a lot. Seen something with cannibalise too but can’t remember. Maybe CNB?

Good shout! The Cannibalise abbreviation though… haven’t seen that so probably better not to include it.

Updated with more relevant information.
