Love (poll and discussion)

From comments here it doesn’t look like people have figured out how to use her yet. I haven’t hatched her, but I have some ideas so I’ll share them. @Mr.X I think you’re completely wrong and, once again, downplaying everything on the release of a monster.

The secret skill:

At first this looks like too much of a downgrade. +30TU on everything is definitely weaker, so the question is: when do you want the higher speed? I think there are two scenarios:

  1. In PvE, specifically UC, you get a sin punishment much faster.
  2. In PvP, in the front line she becomes genuinely very threatening.

Since I know most people want to talk PvP here, let me explain that. If nothing has a kill by 68% speed then she can void focus kill anything. If you come up against a high speed aggressive enemy FL then any kills they get you can immediately punish with either slayerbreak or sin punishment. So while her TU is not efficient, she can work well as your fastest monster to help enable lower speed monsters. Her high defence and HG make her more challenging to kill by any high speed aggressive enemy team.

The passives

The passives are what really stand out to me about her design.

Ethereal entity + high defence is a great combination for making her tricky to take down. Low speed is annoying, but unless you’re really losing badly (where most monsters are not helpful) she will do a lot to fight back against an opponent when she gets turns and this passive + defence does help you get there.

Purifying entrance is probably the aspect you need to be building around. There aren’t a huge number of options for this. The most obvious angle is sleep with things like OoO, Lurelily or Lemon (sadly no viable sleep bomb exists). Poison only has a few combos like epidemic, blight bomb and deathmatch mode but it can also help enable teams where you want to run a toxic entrance but it has a chance to counter your own monsters ahead in the team so this could mitigate that effect.

There are probably other niche synergies like Aello doing gale dance into this and how it works both with and against Rinmu nicely (with if you’re doing the Airavalon tactic).

Overall

At a baseline this monster obviously doesn’t compete with top mythics. High defence and ethereal entity with slayerbreak and potentially 100TU void focus sweeping is pretty good though that I don’t think it’s an embarrassing monster to play at all even just as a mid-game purifier, similar to Gabrielle. Playing PvP at the top level I think you’ve got two options to lean into: FL with the SS or outside the FL without the SS and capitalising on the purifying entrance as part of some combo / high synergy.

I love everything about the design here. The art is great, the SS is very interesting and the moveset is super unique. I’m trying to save for the anniversary but with this and the Abyssoldier legendary this festival is looking incredibly fun!

That said, it’s perhaps a little too complicated that it will get overlooked even when it has some good potential in particular setups. That’s a minor quibble. My one true criticism is the name is so dumb. I don’t know how you settled on a monster being called “Love”

I really love this mythic!

I clearly saw the image of this mythic around several months back, in an in-game special offer shop, and during that time, I assumed that it would be added later into the game, and I was right!

I’d swap those personally due to Arbustodon FL preferences and synergy with Blight while on, for entry higher speed generally is preferred.

I dont think am downplaying her or anything, the monster is not that great and in unrestricted pvp she has no place in the team, there are significant better options to be played.

this monster compares well to gaberlle and, and gaberlle has better survival skills and support with give turn.

Overall she will not be used in high pvp, she doesnt have powerful skills and very little synergy with current monsters

The best use is with blight but even here there are better options for a blight team and your not using her passive

overall she is not a monster that will enter and swing the game for you and not a powerful monster to build around

So ignore her and focus on the powerful monsters that are worth building a team around…

This mythic has a problem with the pardon move that removes your entire teams kills, preventing stackable bloodfury moves. The change would be great if it only pardons itself and then Change the other move to piercing void non redirect at the same or slightly higher tu and changing the condition to if the user(love) can use only if itself has 0 kills. The move that pardons entire team is more of a nerf to your own team. I don’t like using the mythic due to these conditions.

Amnesty removes kill count of all monsters on YOUR team, to enable Pure Verdict/Cycle into Sin Punishment without losing any of your mons. It doesn’t reset kills on enemies, so it’s a Sin Punishment enabler.

A real buff to her would be to have her reset kills alongside purifying everything on your field upon entry(Tie it to her Secret skill to have a better reason to activate it than mere speed increase), that way she gets to use sin punishment on her first turn without a real drawback.

Wendigo once again alongside Mr. X trying to delete the entire skillset and copy-paste 3 skills from their favourite sweepers onto it.

Dude that’s the point! You use it with monsters that don’t rely on blood moves. It’s interesting design and means you can protect your team from slayerbane moves.

WHEE WHAT A MOUTHFUL

I have to say that her design—both in her dragon and “waifu” forms—is beautiful, but I wish they had made more of those two forms; her SS should be activatable during battle rather than being passive, so we could better enjoy using both forms.

If there’s one thing I will say about this unit, that even in 2nd form, superbuffed pve content like UC is going to see a lot of this mythic
