Thatās what i waa saying to dev in the beggening, now you have 2 choices :
1-Use lightbane or darkbane without ss (will faill to kill 90% of targets)
2- use ss then easily get killed by any potted monsters above 60% speed before using any move , especially from water ones since he dies even to megasplash ! He is soo squishy and easy to kill
What other people think is that kattamnder gos to neko finisher most of times , the truth is he fails most of times and that 1 hit he gets with his ss is sometimes the best thing he can do , and now they nerfed it

Just curious have you ever built around Katt anyway? Itās never been that type of monster to build around, itās one of those that can give you a few kills if things align well. It was good in helping to keep some FLs in check but devs clearly wanted Nyx to have less counters.
Katt wonāt be dead until Neko Finisher is nerfed somehow, that was always his main move. While using Katt I always tried to charge it as fast as I can anyway. If you get a few kills with it in the meantime with Lightbane and Darkbane, then good. Now it takes 21? Seconds more than before if you want to use Cat Zone (like you usually do).
Kat is all about speed. Now kat finishes your team instead of enemy.
Reverting nerf depends on team built

Anyway, letās first make it clear that katt was literally only good in the frontline. The start of the game is the only time you can afford to spend ~150 secs poking stuff waiting for neko finisher to charge if there arenāt any light or shadow targets. Stun locks were the only non frontline use for katt and those donāt give you enough time now either (also doomgoo exists).
With that in mind, think about what an extra 25tu means for a frontline mon. Katt is 99% speed and enters at ~32tu. Adding 25 to that entrance makes it about as fast as something with 61% speed. The only way it doesnāt play out like that is if thereās a really frail target to hit. Entrance speed in the frontline is incredibly important. In fact, itās so important even a single second can sometimes make the difference between a win and a loss. Katt is especially reliant on its speed so a nerf of this magnitude completely cripples it. If that alone doesnāt explain why katt is dead, imagine how much weaker orca would be if it was 36% speed. You could obviously still use it, but thatās because itās orca. Low tu moveset, good damage, better survivability with camo, etc. Hereās where I add another reminder that kattās sweeping is initially low damage and heavily conditional.
Should I keep going? Alright, here another comparison to show just how crazy a nerf this is. Thereās been a lot of talk about a chlamydia nerf that somehow hasnāt happened yet. Iām pretty sure the most popular nerf would be reducing its speed from 75% to 55% (magmarinus treatment) and I genuinely believe that would fix the problem. Wanna know how much slower that would make it? 12-15 seconds. I.e. the #1 proposed nerf for chlamydia, one of the strongest mythics to exist, is a speed nerf thatās barely half of what was given to kattmander, one of the most speed reliant sweepers to exist. Is that enough?

I donāt want nerf revert , i want my potions back, you guys accept soo easily that the time and efforts you wasted on a monster to pot him get smashed down by nerfeing a monster to the ground , will you pot kattmander to +9 if he was like this from the beggening??? I do understand that itās not as viable or as impactful as it was but Iām saying that itās not dead, still can well be used. Probably not in the highest level of PvP which duck said before (even before the nerf it was not in top FLs)

I agree that there will be more viable options for top teams than Katt.
My point was that you can still get value out of it by charging Neko Finisher, and it takes only 21 or so seconds more. I understand your point of view that it gives the opponent more time to dispatch it. But still you have to take care of it before it charges neko finisher and starts sweeping so it still generates some pressure. Of course there will be monsters that have instant impact and so on and so forth. But I donāt see it as dead.
Itās 25 not 21. What sort of pressure is it going to create when it dies so easily? Whatever help that gives you is more than cancelled out by having to wait ~175 secs after its entrance for neko finisher to charge. I explained earlier why that +25 secs is a huge deal so Iām not gonna repeat that part again.
Is this just an issue of us having different standards? At what point would you consider katt dead? Maybe they could give its ss a 100sec restriction from the start of the game and then youād say itās dead. Right now Iām picturing you looking at a stray cat that got its legs flattened and spine snapped in half after a car ran it over and then saying something like āoh look itās still breathing. itāll be weaker from now on but it should be fine.ā
I feel itās not a particularly high standard for me to consider katt dead after it went from being viable in top 10/20 teams to maybe working for top 200 if the rest of the team is built better. Iād say thatās at least over half of its viability gone. Honestly, the worst part about the nerf is that katt wasnāt even at the highest level of pvp to begin with. It was a second tier sweeper at best and lately that was a stretch.
Oh I just remembered I only got top 1 with katt once. I did it twice with link fire, but the second time I replaced katt with a +6 satomi and that worked better lmao
Yes. I also said it already before but since neko finisher is the main gimmick of Katt, I would consider it ādeadā if the TU of charging it was increased more, or the damage was lowered. Since youāre a top PvP player, I understand why your standards are sky high. I just donāt see it the same way and it gets super tiring to read the same things over and over again.
