We need to clarify one thing: although Coltraz can be quite annoying sometimes, he never PM’d me to complain about Katt. He should not be blamed for Katt’s skill adjustment. We consider everyone’s feedback equally important, whether it’s from him, Killerdog, Duck, or others.
The Katt’s secret skill change is equivalent to reducing its speed to 61%, but at the same time, it boosts its attack and reduces skill seconds. This fact shouldn’t be taken for granted. Katt doesn’t have any weaknesses either, aside from the general counter-fire and counter-beast skills.
Arguing whether Katt is ‘dead’ or not is futile. What those who claim Katt is dead often omit is that, by their standards, probably 60% of the legendary monsters in the game would be ‘dead’ as well. With that perspective, I might agree that Katt is ‘dead.’ It’s just a difference in viewpoints.
We do try to shift the meta by nerfing some monsters, but we buff even more monsters to achieve the same goal. I also play ranked PvP, sometimes grinding the whole weekend when we have significant changes in the game.
I think I’ve played against most of the users on the forum in PvP. I’ve reached the top 3 once, top 50 more than 10 times. I ranked nearly 20th in the last PvP with an uncommon frontline and Giehretus in the mid team. I’ve also tried Honghua a lot. I can’t say she is useless but definitely not super strong. However, playing her is very fun.
