I always viewed this event as one that lets you play with monsters you donât own and to create some wacky combos by using multiples of monsters.
The rewards were always low, then you added rewards for 300+ and made it super buffed level. This was fun for a time and Iâd always grind it, but since the event always became 5 days (rather than sometimes 6-7) itâs quite unrealistic to grind far. Also, with temporary stun immunity and power creep on legendaries/mythics itâs become too awkward to go far that Iâve stopped bothering.
My problems with the non-ex version:
Rewards too low up to lvl 300
Rewards in 300+ too inaccessible these days
6 tickets (5hr refresh) grinding is a nightmare for most people
Feedback on the ex version:
I didnât like the start of the event. It felt much harder than usual. The enemies can do way too much and you donât have the tools for it unless you redraft lots (I didnât, but presume this was the way to have a good team). I much prefer the normal event where you start with lower star monsters and try to make the most of what youâve got by building around your couple of good monsters.
The number of redrafts felt silly. I could basically guarantee good legendaries/mythics to get a strong team after a while, which made the later stages of the events too easy and just using a lot of the monsters I already use in PvE (replaying this event Iâd probably end up building similar teams). Iâm currently at ~350 and not losing any battle, itâs basically easy for a veteran like me.
The novelty was brilliant. As a one-off I had a lot more fun with this than a normal IC.
Levels 300+ seems much more achievable like this, which gives better access to those gem rewards.
My suggestions for improvement:
Make the event 7 days long, starting more like the normal event and progressing into multiple mythics and lots of legendaries by the end.
Improve the rewards a little in lvls 1-300.
Keep the same buff we currently have through lvls 1-300, but after that point make it a gradual increase. For example,
300 = 1.5x
400 = 1.75x
500 = 2x
550 = 2.5x
600 = 3x
650 = 8x (past 600 this is a single reward of a player icon)
Make it 8 tickets total.
Give us 3 redrafts per day that refresh (they donât stack). Maybe 5 per day but I personally prefer lower.
So the idea is that we go through from lower stars into more like this âexâ style and have plenty of time to go higher for the gems as well as not requiring specific monsters that can deal with super buffed enemies (although for the 500+ rewards youâll likely need them). I think this gives the best of everything.
A daily redraft is fine. Players have several options to choose from â they can take the risk for better ones or stick with what theyâre offered. It should either be a daily redraft or a redraft for each pick.
Thanks, you made me spot I didnât edit that part of my post with my final idea. I changed some things and I meant to say they donât stack.
You might be right though⌠perhaps 3 redrafts per day could be better. Iâll edit my idea.
I think having some redrafts is important and a fun aspect of the event. Sometimes you need them to find a useful monster. However, it shouldnât be too many.
Haha sorry frm my side as well , let me explain it properly now
U give opponents baby roaches and then the opp generally the AI controlling the baby roach will give u the final form roach and sacrifice themself.
Now u got another final form roach , give them a baby form roach and repeat the process.
Also the key points is tht the baby can only swap out with another mons and not the final form roach so the cycle stops once u get 4 final form roaches in field.
I just wanted to say that I had the same sentiment: battles were longer and harder at the start and the rewards donât feel like theyâre worth it at all. I only got to lvl 181 this time as I couldnât be bothered to play more.
That said it became more fun after the mythics came into play as the matches became much faster. Also, itâs not guaranteed to get the monster you want in even 50 rerolls⌠I initially got Bartholosar but one of the other choices was Skyherra which pretty much guarantees a smooth progression. Later I got both Whiskers and Canine and wanted to build a pirate team but didnât get Bartholosar again even though I spent 40 rerolls on it
Thatâs a shame. I wonder how different the activity was from players overall. It didnât look like there were any more players trying to push past lvl 300 than usual.
I went to 400 this time, rather than my usual 320. Basically because it was fairly easy to keep getting wins. I probably wouldâve gone further if I remembered to keep on top of the tickets. I used the end of the event to try out Orochi and Woolala. Orochi was pretty rubbish. Woolala definitely wasnât as good as she would be if I had better support but was working.
Oh yeah I didnât mean literally specific monsters. I just mean you can probably get relatively similar monsters each time, i.e. from the pool of ones that are good for events like this.
Given how it doesnât seem like too many more people were inspired to grind the event I imagine the Devs will need to go harder on increasing the rewards than I suggested. My hope was you could encourage people to go further by making the later battles easier and the event longer but maybe thatâs not what people will respond to.
