Nope.
That’s why your account never got removed from the leaderboards but Daniel’s did
Man what you are saying make no sense… They can’t remove accounts only because Devs ask someone specific to stop doing it.
Rather is legal for all or illegal for all.
But I repeat that was not a major issue in the past.
I remember having a big argument when I was in ONE with KD, Sherlock, Lemon, Josu and Keets.
Basically I was sharing the account with LDN Alazan, and he got top 1.
I was working too much that weekend and Alazan end up playing the entire pvp.
I’ve got told things like “is not fair anyone else to be playing a big account like yours when they didn’t earn it”, or “if you are busy your account should not be occupying a top spot used by someone else”.
Basically that was the start of what leaded me and ONE to split our ways.
Account sharing during ranked is illegal for all. It usually isn’t an issue that the devs have to act on but they’re forced to do something about it when someone with a top account is openly sharing it during multiple seasons.
Think of it like shoplifting. It’s quite easy to get away with it once or twice, but continuing to shoplift from the same store each month is just asking to caught.
EDIT: I hate how killerdog can just lurk on the thread then share his opinion and close the discussion so no one can respond to him
Alright one last try:
1.) Can we agree that Humans in general do need sleep?
2.) Can we agree on the fact that sleep deprivation has negative effects on the body such as a lack of concentration etc.
3.) So Sleep deprivation has negative effects on the brain, therefor your brain cannot perform its duties as reliable and effective is it would normally be the case if you wouldn’t be sleep deprived.
4.) As a consequence sleep deprivation also has a negative impact on your decision making in a game that requires a lot of concentration and strategic thinking when played on a higher level.
5.) Neo monsters PvP usually is three days long. Given you at least have some duties (most likely work, school, university, family) during the day, that mostly forces you to play in the late afternoon or at night.
6.) However at some point your interest to play the game collides with your need for sleep. Again, duties like school, work, Uni most likely will force you to get some sleep at some point. You can only save up to 10 tickets so if you have to leave for work early in the morning, you wont have time to play the tickets necessary in order to not lose a ticket.
7.) The need for sleep + real life duties will make everyone lose tickets at some point especially when ranked is played during the week or its a four day PvP which is also played on Friday and Monday
8.) Thats a disadvantage but its a disadvantage everybody has to face equally.
9.) If you give your account away to a second person who plays while you’re sleeping or at work, you’re gaining an unfair advantage over people who cannot share their account.
10.) Why unfair? Well, lets just pretend the resource “Top level PvP Player” is a scarce resource, meaning there’s a limited number of them. When is account sharing most effective? If two top players share the account. For example like you did with Anne
11.) Why? Because the sleeping person wastes tickets. A wasted the ticket is basically a loss. So you can maximize the Effectiveness of account sharing if the second person wins as much as possible while the other people sleep.
12.) Now lets take a short look at Kants categorical imperative. It basically says: Act only according to that [maxim] whereby you can, at the same time, will that it should become a universal law.
13.) Now lets bring that together. Let’s pretend everybody would account share but the resource TOP Player is scarce. What would happen?
14.) We would have a two class society in Neo. One group would be lucky enough to have another top player from a different time zone sharing accounts, the other group wouldn’t be this lucky because the Ressource top player scarce and its only logical that not everbody can play as a tag team of two top ten players.
15.) What would be the consequences? The single players would have no chance at top ranks because ranking high wouldn’t be determined by skill (or money) but simply by the random fact wether you have second person to share accounts with and the skill level of this person.
16.) But a competitive game mode doesn’t make any sense if the starting conditions for a all players aren’t equal
17.) I know you could say that F2P vs. Whales is also unfair but in theory at least every player has the chance to spend
18.) Compare that to having the chance to build a tag team with another top 10 player. Even if we would pretend (which is completely wrong) that in 38 PvP seasons always 10 different people would have hit the top there would only be a total of 380 Top 10 players. If we take into account that of course this isn’t the case and it has always has been more or less the same group who’s gotten top 10, also take into account that a larger group has retired, also take into account that account sharing is only effective if the other player is from country with a time zone that is at least somehow different to yours (Ideally its daytime there while its nighttime at yours), also take into account that you have to somehow get in contact and on top need to get along with each other and so on the number of potential tag team partners would be really small in the end
19.) To put it in a nutshell: A small amount of people would be able to get a massive advantage over everybody else. For the other people its completely impossible to somehow get past this disadvantage and it would create a system of self reproducing injustice because the tag team players would get all the rewards to only get stronger while the solo players wont have any chances to get to these rewards because even spending wont buy you out of the need to sleep.
20.) Only writing this because ending with 20 points does look better than ending it with 19.
I thought this was KD given the length of the post but I’m pleasantly surprised to see Sherlock channeling his inner Chris Marlow.
I can’t write too many of those posts otherwise I will lose the credibility to trash KD for his Walls of text nobody bothers to read anyway…
The lesson of the story is that wins against top tier players should be weighted more heavily than sheer games played
I liked point 20 and agree with it.
Ok no… Jokes apart, I agree with what written about sleep, social life and even creating some kind of “advantage”, but I also have to say that devs can easily fix this by increasing the max number of tickets.
Some people might find it fun, playing with a friend, which is understandable.
Move the max ticket number to 20 and more likely only who is deliberately neglecting ranked PvP will lose tickets.
Sharing to maximise will not be a problem because every dedicated player can maximise at that point.
Sharing between two top players has some bad effects also, hence that I shared only once with Anne and once with Alazan while both of us playing.
Mostly I decided to let them play solo in pvp while I would take care of PvE.
I do not want to give names, but because I do not want weapons discussion between moderators and forum participants but it is not a theory you know perfectly who was to take this topic to the dev and everything else
You know point 20 is the best I’ve seen you say
Either drop names or stop claiming it. This leads us nowhere
not at all, I’m not going through life saying that I’m not asking for anything in particular, certainly I don’t care since I’m not even from dmg, but don’t come here with arguments like that I don’t have to say anything, I leave it in the conscience of each which …
Here is what learned from the lack of sleep from grinding PvP matches:
it is taking a long time of my life… More interesting time that I could invest in meeting more girls and studying more… Before Being a leader, I talked to a lot of beautiful girls and now because I’m so involved with all this Neo I am neglecting other aspects of my life such as love and study.
Thereby I think sharing accounts should be banned.
Alright, you know nothing. Thanks for saying hello.
you are loved, take good care of yourself and greetings to the family
I’m sure the devs can generate a report of the top 10 ranked players who have had their account restored on a separate device during ranked pvp at the end of each pvp period if they wanted to. I know they’ll do this from here on out. My argument is that the punishment should be the same as BM if you are caught during ranked doing this. Being banned the whole subsequent season in addition to being removed for the current one from the rankings.
because only the first 10, the others if they can? It is not fair, but hey (I think a better punishment would be to suspend your account and call the United Nations for a wall of fucilation) (joke)
The first 10 are the most meaningful. But you’re right they should apply this to everyone.
Actually, it does, since any tickets over the max that you get while afk are lost. If there was no max tickets, then account sharing would still be very slightly advantageous(lack of burnout or tiredness reducing the number of mistakes or misplays, 20 hours a day allowing you to take advantage of time zones to fight weaker opponents while the stronger ones sleep, etc.), but not to anywhere near the same extent.
Removing a ticket max would largely solve account sharing being a balance issue, though I still think that it would be banned, since it does still give plenty of advantages.
Moving on, I thought that it would be helpful to categorize account sharing by how often an account is swapped, so here goes:
Type 1: Quick swapping
This type is the one that I have focused on so far, were several people swap accounts between each other to play more hours a day. In this version, swaps often happen as soon as one user logs out, so within minutes or hours of each other. This is usually only used during specific times(such as ranked PvP or UC), as it is very hard to sustain long-term
Type 2: Time Division
In this type, a few people swap one account between each other in order to be able to take breaks, get sleep, etc. Here, the swaps often happen within a few days or weeks of each other. Can be done long term, but is usually not. This also covers giving an account to someone else for a few days to try out monsters
Type 3: Shared Custody
For this type, a very small number of people swap an account rarely, allowing them to focus on multiple accounts, deal with highly time-consuming things like exams or legal trouble, and just over not have to worry much about the account for a while. In this one, the account is swapped a few times a year. This is often done long term. Sometimes, this will take the form of rotating accounts, where 2 or more people have accounts, and they rotate every x weeks or months.
Overall, these types get less harmful as the swap intervals get longer. However, it is worth noting that, technically, they are all equally punishable under the TOS, though tracking type 2 and essentially type 3 can be very hard, since they often take place over a period of time larger than any one event or season.
