Is cannibalize a balanced skill? Opinions

As good habit I like to choose very triggering topics to discuss about.

Today’s topic is Cannibalize.

How do you feel about it?

Many strategies are including Ziberious mid form (8 cost), at +9 with 81 speed is very fast.

We had a SE (10 cost) that got his speed nerfed because of it, so is it balanced for mid form of Ziberious to have cannibalize?

Works very well in monsters like Athrasis. But is too slow. What is the right speed for cannibalize in PvP?

I think Zib’s speed is perfect for a retribution front because it’s effective but still counterable, however the second form definitely shouldn’t have cannibalise.

I was testing titan + jawshank with revenge speed over 90, it’s the fastest I know and the most effective.

Yes that is a problem because retreat does not have a TU restriction.

Imo, you want to play titans in FL because of fast True Hit? Ok fine, high risk high reward, retreat is locked for 100 TU

It’s good, but not game breaking. No issues with it whatsoever.

What is your definition of “game breaking”?

Tranquilizing entrance

it does not need it since the gravity fields are a strong control and it is quite common so I had to play orca in fl for when there is a gravity field kill it or simply cause the death of the orca itself and accelerate the recoil, unfortunately with the limitations I cannot use this equipment which is quite fun

I’m not against Retribution in FL, as it’s a valid strategy by itself, and I’m ok with 2nd form Ziberius too.
The only thing I’m against is using Cannibalize on self (something @NMEduck knows)

Retribution FL strategies are fast and effective, and then self-cannibalize allows you to charge Retribution while avoiding having a 130sec monster on the field.

I think that’s unnecessarily convenient for a fast strat that’s very low risk and can allow high speed entrances regardless of Gravity Field, unlike White/Blacktitan.

Also Cannibalizing yourself doesn’t make sense. I mean, you can see the monster heal himself to full briefly before dying. Wtf? That’s not how it works.

Guys can I make you a genuine question?

When you answer, do you think about every players tier or just high players tier?

Because to me looks like you are “assuming” those strats are easy to counter.

In this case, I’m only considering the high tier player.

Retribution FL strats are generally something you see in high level PvP due to the fact that not only you’ll almost always need a shop/Rare Egg monster (Lavamane or Ziberius) to pull it off, not to mention the good Retribution FL monsters are Jaguardian, Baublebasher and even Hellfox. You’re probably gonna need two of them to leave a mark.

In fact I’ve never seen it used by mid-beginners except for one instance.

As I discovered the other day. When you think about lower tier, no one believes you anyway.

You misunderstood me…

Are you aware that hatching three of those four monsters make a player easily jump tier obviously with a decent team behind.

So you need to consider how much game changing are in every tier.

What you believe or not is irrelevant to me.

I am indeed thinking about lower tiers too.

Yeah, wasn’t aimed at you

My concern is genuine, and I greatly agree with Exu, Zib is fine at 13 cost, not at 8

Regarding retreat and exit plan, I find it too comfortable to be used without a restriction, especially because they can bring in protectors, stunners and all sort of fast sweepers.

I think in general devs always need to take a good hard look at monsters which are in some cases better off not evolved.

Strongly agree there is many out there.

If I see cannibalism well, it is simply a neo that kills itself, that is bad ?. If you had to give your life for someone you love, wouldn’t you?
