Maybe you’re just mistaken in who is the stronger player when you feel this way

No, some mythics are as bullsh*t as those cheap setups I mentioned before.

I want the strategy to base on GT and healing instead of locks and abusive settings.

As always your answer is totally stupid.

If you play 10 times a guy with a modest team and a Sakuralisk awoken, will come that 1-2 times that Sakuralisk will put to sleep half of your team and you will eventually lose to pure RNG.
This should not happen.

You’re all so highly competitive. Sometimes it feels like the hate here is not healthy.

This :+1:

This is exactly why I tried to shut this down early. Here we are with paragraphs upon paragraphs lol :man_facepalming:t2::man_facepalming:t2::man_facepalming:t2::man_facepalming:t2::man_facepalming:t2::man_facepalming:t2:

You say

  1. I doubt this
  2. This shouldn’t be for players to worry about
  3. This is also on the player.

Please don’t think I’m getting angry with you for disagreeing with me KD. I’m not. It’s just that once again you’re speaking on behalf of others.

You are countering ideas, based on what you think others should do or how others should think. Not what you individually think (until now).

Please voice your own opinion but don’t dictate how others should or shouldn’t handle things. On the second and third points do what Don did and answer: Is this for you? And feel free to explain why.

Don’t tell everyone how they should handle junk mail and cold callers, when we’re simply trying to reduce it lol.

This conversation and whole thread was born from conversations I had with many other players, clearly they have a different viewpoint to you. And rightly so.
I’d like to point out 11 people like the OP.

On the first point, people literally said to me, they would experiment more if they weren’t recognised. Yes, you can speculate with teams, but that’s not the same as an ID. And teams change all the time.

On A. You can’t do that in ranked. Experimental teams change often. Even if you’re recognised once, it won’t be repeatedly.

On B. You don’t explain how. But this is the sort of point I was looking for in the first place regarding the thread

On C, that was already pointed out to me, so i already addressed that in a later comment, but obviously you haven’t read / missed that.

My opinion on all of this:

-Who cares? Idk if any of you guys have met in real life but for me everyone here are just “faceless” internet people (no offense meant towards anyone and it sounds nihilistic but it’s true for me). So ultimately if someone is salty/toxic about a PvP match doesn’t really matter to me because 99% of the time people wouldn’t have the courage or audacity to say those things to me in front of my face.

-You have a good team? There will always be someone who copies it or at least parts of it. I think it’s flattering in a way. In the end you will know best how to get the most out of it because you’re the creator.

-If someone posts about your loss or rubs it in your face, it’s their ego problem, not yours. You don’t have to defend against other people’s insecurities. And if someone is harassing you on this forum just message the mods and we will put a swift end to that.

Also on a different note I’ve seen people in many games engaging in a certain type of behaviour: some people will try to nullify their loss by leaving the game early. It’s like a defense mechanism against losing because people often take losing in a video game way too seriously. Your brain might put you in a situation where you think winning in that video game is momentarily the most important thing in your life even though it doesn’t matter at all in the big picture. So in their minds they probably think they can avoid the frustration of losing because they didn’t see the end of the match. It’s not as problematic here in Neo as it’s 1v1 but extremely problematic in competitive co-op multiplayer.

Many of the things you put are true, but believe me I know several players in real life and if I had the opportunity to travel, I would go to say hello to a few more
If I play more than 5 games a day (which rarely happens) and I sense that I am going to lose, I leave earlier, to save time for both players, I really don’t care if I lose, if the loss of time bothers me a lot. LOL

Wow this thread has been surprisingly peaceful for a discussion thread. I am unironically pleased.

People seem to be focused more on the secondary point of the GGs and conversation that follow. If it doesn’t bother you, that’s great. For some players it will. For me personally, I will usually ignore but I don’t want to be notified each time. It’s like junk mail :joy:

For me, it’s more about giving players a safer space to create teams and experiment without damaging their reputation.

It’s not something that bothers me personally, I experiment all the time and take the losses with the wins, but others have said it does bother them.

It affects me because I’m quite frankly bored of playing the same teams over and over.

So if anonymity helps that cause and brings out more creativity, without any drawback, I’m all for it. Surprised others are so against it tbh

Maybe people should just grow a pair and not care what others think of them.

Believe me Lemon, that there is no GG of anyone in the entire community that damages your reputation here in NEO, you are one of the pillars (good or bad, we don’t know yet)

Oh I’m not worried about my own reputation at all.

I want people to experiment more, and if they would do that more with anonymity. So be it.

You sound like Killerdog.

That’s how I would handle it too. But it’s not for me to dictate how others should react.

Ultimately, I just want to drive creativity in the game and if others want anonymity to help them do that, I’m all for it.

Again, I don’t really see the downside to what I’m proposing. But a few of you have commented now and the players who liked the original post have gone quiet, so I’ll leave it there. I tried to help those who reached out about this.

I’m so confused by this, I literally wrote them as “I think” or “I feel” in basically every paragraph. When I was talking about what I think others should do that’s MY OPINION on how they should handle these things. It was not dictating or anything like that, just my own opinion on it.

We really struggle to understand each other in these discussions.

EDIT: Just read Exu’s post. Ironically, he’s written it in exactly the way you thought I did… telling people how they should be thinking/feeling. It obviously comes from his own point of view, but I hope if you see the two side by side you’ll notice there’s a difference in phrasing.

I was writing a review, covering the points. You’re right I didn’t say how you addressed it. Tbh your idea of adding report / add friend buttons to the battle log screen is excellent. That’s an additional request though, which is where it starts getting less likely to happen unfortunately.

^ Had to stop the quote there because it’s funny.
Yeah Exu I get your opinion, Squinty’s too, but the reality is that there are enough people who do care and get upset. If we can find a way to help them while not irritating anyone else / causing other problems then that’s got to be a good thing. That’s what Lemon is trying to do here. However, where me and him differ is the HOW, especially when it comes to shifting culture. I’m a fairly strong believer in community culture coming from the acts of people within the community. If you can shift the way people are, it’ll shift the culture. Hence, moderators can, over time, affect that and otherwise other people who try hard within the community. PvP culture is always one of the hardest, because the competition brings out the worst in people and it too easily becomes toxic.

Lemon has identified that the GG’s and forced conversations are the worst aspect of this all. I’d therefore recommend that’s the bit moderators and other community influencers start making clear people should be respectful after winning matches and aware that the loser may not want to talk about it. Laying that down as a rule is probably not going to work, but being smart about it with subtle mentions over time can do the trick. I reckon that’s better for the community as a whole than an in-game change.

Sigh

Yes. I’m saying it’s not for us to have an opinion or dictate on how people handle these things. If you and I let it fly over our heads, great, but if others don’t like it, we should respect their feelings. Not say I think they should handle it differently or present our opinion on how they should react.

Yeah I agree. But VKC mentioned in my feature request thread that some things are on the way. Im a dreamer :joy: I guess it’s for the devs to decide what’s achieveable. We can only present ideas.

No… this was the main point…

You’ve already mentioned you disagree that this would help team building variance though. Players have told me they’d experiment more in this case though.

I think if there’s no drawback why not try it.

I feel like I understand you perfectly

As we’re going through all this, I’d like to stress I’m not angry or annoyed here. Just trying to make the game better for everyone. It’s hard to show that without tone or body language.

It would help!

Goddammit Lemon!! :man_facepalming:t2:

I’m not sure.

On one hand, Killerdog plays KingsRoad, which is a game that requires a minimum of 180 IQ to fully understand.

On the other hand, Lemon survived for 30+ years in the real-life PvP zone that is Wales, proving he has lots of street smarts and practical skills.

When did you become so woke  This is the kind of woke rubbish I can’t stand. I somehow can’t give an opinion without it being disrespectful haha. Maybe I should say something like “My reason to be on this forum is to share my opinion, I get very upset when people say I can’t. It’s a place with freedom to express ourselves so I have rights here and you must respect them” :stuck_out_tongue:

Writing fingers itching
Yeah I’m going to stop giving more replies. We’re on 60 posts in this thread so if you want to hold the belief there are no drawbacks then I’ll leave you in your peace. Honestly though, when I just wrote about shifting community culture I thought it might peak your interest and you might consider encouraging people to hide is not an entirely positive solution. Dealing with the root cause is feasible, I believe.

Wales is a lovely place and so welcoming! The only hostile thing is the place names. Trying to ask for directions is the only battle you’ll face there.
