I donât agree. Motor is core for token teams, rhionel is versatile.
Try asking ordinary players, Rhinoel or Motordragon is better. Iâm sure many people will answer that Rhinoel is much easier to use and better. Or just look at some of the previous whales, I rarely saw them playing âmotordragonâ, whereas Rhinoel was more common in its time, even in wavetail set-ups they sometimes used Rhinoel.
Motordragon is on the limit list because many people use it (of course many people use it because they gave it away for free at the Neo Monster anniversary)

try asking Kd or just look at his tierlist, heâs an old player, but now heâs not a ranker pvp player and his list is definitely valid enough for ordinary players.

For me it is definitely motor which is better . Deconstruction is more powerful and effective and with boxes the opponent can use it to bring 4 monsters and sometimes bringing in 4 monsters at the same time can be very dangerous and we are in an era where these monsters tank this detonation. Plus a kbn motor and double repulsion which has its advantages.

Janne had already used motor in his nyx teams, he never did it in rhinoel and probably never will. Also with the restriction lists it is clear that I will no longer use and popular of the two among the players of the top 100 this engine (since it is the most limited of the two). In terms of deconstruction the engine outclasses but as a sweeper it is rhinoel

I only know few best token user and one is u definitely and another best token user is arajuna himself who is claiming motor is not better and I donât agree .
I speak this from my own experience. when I make a team with motordragon I always include backbiter + sweeper + Anti gravity and rhinoel has all of that. Even in the team I uploaded last time, it was very synergistic if I had Rhinoel.
In fact, I learned to play Token like now from the alternative ACC which has Rhinoel, If you try to buy a Motordragon at the shop using an anniversary ticket, you will definitely have difficulty using it.
Rhinoel is not on the list because itâs Christmasâhe has a job to do.

Rhinoel is not really an anti gravity and a backbiter. He only eats other tokens so not optimal, 170tu of piercing blow which does random damage and with the increase of HP boost we donât call it anti gravity. With motor, you have your little void or geo, you let it do its SS and you eliminate it. Except with rhinoel Iâve never seen people use it just for the tokens. They keep spamming piercing blow until suicide. And like I said 5 bronzeshell is more disruptive than two boxes if both are on the field
Because you give him random buffs. Give aoe with the same Tu as novadrake and 76% speed. I assure you he will be meta. Just try
I said you donât need a backbiter because Rhinoel can clean itself in 2 piercing blows (as long as you donât target monster fire). Have you ever felt that when you play Motordragon and your backbiter dies, the match becomes a little difficult. This experience rarely happens when you play Rhinoel, because Rhinoel can kill itself.
motordragon is weak against gravity because it has double repulse (in fact you could say that almost all monster tokens are weak to gravity), Rhinoel is still quite good to play with gravity monsters, I myself have tried it with Jocodragon and itâs good.
I judge this monster not from the team/engine they use, but from the monster itself. If Janne plays Motordragon+ nyx and gets rank 18. If I remember Iberian plays Nyx with rhinoel and gets rank 4.

Dude, I still do plenty of PvP I just donât push in rank. My win rates are actually higher now than they ever were back when I regularly pushed and got top 10. So you can think of me as a competitive PvP player, I simply donât grind it on ranked weekend.
Itâs a very good question. Iâve played lots with Rhinoel. It was nerfed multiple times since release and I havenât properly updated where it is in the tier list. On release it was definitely stronger. I think ultimately both Rhinoel and Motordragon are the same tier.
The problems with Rhinoel that have come up are:
- Boxchomp deals pretty high damage that itâs not complete dead weight (particularly against holy)
- Detonation+ doesnât kill mythics, defence buff or HP boosted things that well⌠which have become very common
- Mythics and HP boost becoming common makes piercing blow less useful on Rhinoel
Motordragon has more synergy potential, e.g. with Jackolene if you want to go for super heavy disruption. Creating 5 tokens is borderline broken if you have any ways to abuse them, and double repulse is a lovely move to have them. The problem is it takes more building around to work well and you really need to remove it after it enters. Itâs ultimately more of a risk to run.
So I think Motordragon has the higher ceiling but a lower floor and it matters more what your play style is, as well as the specific team.
I finally got Motordragon with the Neo Ticket Lite after all these years so I built around it. This was the team I used at the end of unranked and then in ranked. Motordragon felt absolutely absurd! I ended up losing only 1 match after I think close to 50 matches.
Obviously this is reaching the peak of what Motordragon can do. XYZ stunning all the Bronzeshells, protectors to make Voidressâ ritual reliable and both Momo + Carmillette who can reset Bronzeshell HP to make them dead weight for far longer (and XYZâs dreaded strike - sometimes came up). I was able to lock down a great many teams by stunning them then disrupting them and holding control through the fight with the 5 Bronzeshells I made. In my opinion, if you want to use Motordragon in a top team then it needs this much synergy.
One other thing with Motordragon is I see lots of people play it incorrectly by spamming KBN. You should definitely kill Bronzeshells to charge bloodthirst. Do it when theyâre about to die off anyway.
So I think Rhinoel was absolutely S+ on release but has fallen to S-. Motordragon has been A tier for a long time (even if I havenât had it there) with the actual range being B - S depending on the team you use it in. However, at some point it shouldâve been raised to S- because there are more things it can synergise with now so I think the range is more like B - S+ based on what youâre doing with it.
