It would undoubtedly work as intended, but at what cost is the question. Maybe some people actually find a natural way to run 4+ protectors without feeling spammy(for example using mons like keeper and the Brit bear that can bring value without needing to use protect), but they’d get unfairly shut down. And I’ve said my piece about tampering with the groundwork that the game set up at its inception.
Fair enough, i can underestand that its a legitimate concern. I sympathize with you on youre points, id just like to see the devs maybe contemplate introducing it as a once-off special rule in one of their new special pvp events. It would be a way of just testing it without permanently altering the groundwork of the game. In the end its just a suggestion and i respect youre reasons for not agreeing with it, i just like all possibilities being explored

Assassinate and Auto poison will reign havoc once stag dies, but stag, the root of all evil, makes it so difficult if the targeting is RNG. Personally I think protect killer should do 10% more damage too

It’s sad the old legendaries that have protect killer not only can not kill most AP legendaries but also die really fast. Yesterday I killed shadowyrm and a SE with dual slayerbane from cappy while only shadow had a kill. I usually never one shot with that skill unless the legendary is earth. I don’t we should worry about assassinate. I hated this skill so much So I am very happy stag exists.
My small idea would be, a new legendary (limited but they can feature 3 times for everyone to get it) that has protect killer (but this skill also needs to be buffed) and a new passivr called: killer instinct.
Killer instinct: this monster ignores sheilds and hold ground if it targets a protect monster. The skill can not be redirected if it targets a protect monster.

For ur last Part, just take a look at dragulus … A mythic that kills all protectors with one hit, even the 6* Version of dragulus does it
I thought Dragulus was the answer for Bloom AP spam. Bloom’s hellfire all one shot it and the shield protected it from DR
Also the passive doesn’t get redirected by other protecters. Killer instinct is nothing like dragulus.

It does matter though. Because although you’re right, it can one shot anything, it could be the difference between a stag or a rockoid, meaning the stag gets a KBN or sleep all in, if drax doesn’t kill it first
People are relating this to Dragulus but actually it’s basically the move wall breaker. We still don’t have a legendary with wall breaker except as a secret skill. I think simply killing protectors isn’t the answer though, because you kill one but there are still loads more between you and the monster you actually want to kill. Hitting around a protector or dealing with a protector in another way would work as a far more effective counter. That’s why true hit on a legendary with reasonable TU (not 200) has a lot of potential.
But that will destroy the meaning of protectors. True hit also doesn’t kill ducy or bloom anyways. But my idea was to be able eat through protecters and more importantly, target which protector you wanna kill (which is stag most of the time) but let protectors still have a use. True hit/Focus just straight up kills them and that is not a cool idea. We don’t need protectors to have a their angelion like stun has that cat.
So wallbreaker but it has to target a protector and doesn’t get re-directed onto other protectors? If so, sounds reasonable to me but I still think even if we had efficient ways to kill protectors we’d have trouble actually dealing with the sweeper behind them which is killing its way through our team.
New idea, this one’s absolutely bonkers lol.
New monster with a passive that only activates if there is an active enemy protector. It does 2 things: it makes the user immune to all damage, maybe sleep and/or stun too(stay with me here), and it makes it unable to bypass protect, meaning it can’t use AP RNG or team focus if that’ll ever exist. He can have protector killer, wall breaker and bloodthirst, maybe a fourth move that can make him somewhat useful if there’s no protector. This monster almost GUARANTEES that any protector on the field with it will die. It can continue killing however many protectors there are, and once there’s no more the passive wears off, and it reverts into a normal sweeper. having both PK and wall breaker gives it flexibility, so it can either just hack away with PK as many times as it needs to to finish the job, or it can use wall breaker to shut down stuff like shiva, or if you need a tank out of the way immediately. There are still ways to shut it down; it can be knocked back, or the protectors can be pulled back in order to cancel the passive. It’s also still vulnerable to insta-kill moves like death sentence, sudden death, maggat’s bomb, spirit possession, etc. It’s also still up in the air whether it could be immune to sleep or stun; both would stall it, but do nothing to get rid of it. Still a pretty new concept, so haven’t thought through all the details yet. Curious what everyone thinks.
Protector killer and wall breaker on the same mon are redundant since they do the same thing and one is superior. It’s like having bloodbite and bloodfury on the same mon.
