Help with Chapter 5 Yulan

Ok… So after Being crushed by yulan a couple dozen times, and rejected by RNGesus with a shotgun, I definitely need help with a Yulan plan.

Below is the monsters I have that are 3 star or above. Also have all the island 3 stars from temples, and almost pretty much every 2 star.

One tip I would give is ultra evolve seahowl (that’s the name of the ultra evolved form, the blue dog next to gulper you get from dungeon on final island) it learns give turn which is extremely helpful if it’s next to a survivor/desperate striker

Could you post at least her frontline and maybe some key threats

Yulan’s Lineup:

Dragaia - 6 star(Assisted Quake 1100-1300+ dmg all enemies + Life flip self + Hold ground + Stun immune)

Halodrei - 5 star(Protect Focus + 800 dmg all enemies)

Nimboss - 5 star(Auto Protect)

Darkstag - 4 star(Protect Allies + Stun Absorb + Hold ground)

Islandoe - star(stun bomb)

DualDragon - 5 star (forgot)

Seasteed - 3 star(stun bomb)

Cybereon - 6 star(Shocking entrance + Timestrike + Poison revenge)

Volcataurus - 4 star(Survivor)

Armadafish - 4 star(Auto Protect)

Panzershell - 4 star (?)

Clockknight - 4 star (timestrike + 800 dmg all enemies)

Clioseraph - 4 star (Heal all)

Nukespider - 4 star (Stealth + 400 sec bomb)

Magmalathian - 5 star (twin death sentence + Sleep all)

Lavaronix - 6 star (400 sec megabomb)

Typically I tried to run in there with 2 protect killers, but that dragaia pretty much one shots anything lightning elemented, and there’s about a 50% chance halodrei will help out if there is anyone leftover in the first wave if halodrei doesn’t use protect focus or accelerate team.

Nimboss will open with either an 800 dmg single target or stealth teammate

Darkstag will open with either giga(dark) all and hit for about 400-600 or protect team

Usually I can’t even get dragaia killed without 2 hits of pegassiah’s desperate double, or a death revenge/roulette.

If that doesn’t happen, he just wipes my team 4 at a time…

Dualdragon hits like a truck too, but if dragaia and darkstag are out of the picture I can stunbomb combo my way through until around clockknight, after which the massive amount of hp starts to give them turns.

When Cybereon arrives I usually time a stun absorb for the shocking entrance, and try to avoid letting him timestrike, but anything over 140sec will get hit for 5k+ and he always gets a turn off… not to mention his other attacks, and dealing with that requires a sacrificed pawn.

Clio and clockknight I can usually get killed, but cleaning up magma and lavaronix is where I never succeed. Lava’s got like 7k hp at least, I haven’t even been able to get him to half hp and then he megabombs and anything left will clean house.

I remember doing this fight and dragaia wiping out monsters instantly. I’m sure I beat it by putting puffoxin and rhynobrawl in front lineup so 2 death revengers would go for as soon as dragaia hits and should kill 2 monsters or at least put dragaia on hold ground

thanks I think I’ll get halowolf going then, same abilities but lower cost, higher attack hp and def. Only big difference is holy element instead of water. Anything else?

I would try starting with only one of your give turners. Have your little oroblazer in your frontline. And your protect focus with a protector killer like dunkleosus or catobledus. You can use protector killer and hit one of them. Then you should be able to protect focus. I would then use unwanted friend. Team turn with alpha or zeph(probably alpha due to not being weak to ground incase Gaia stays in. Then you knock back with any of your 3 knock backs. It may go to a protector if he used it. If not keep targeting the dragaia. You can deal with him at the end when you hopefully have some fire power ready. But also before he is the last monster left.

I would then have something like peggasiah come in and you can build survivor as you hopefully have bronzeshells on the battlefield. Now you can use the bronzeshells to gain bloodcrave with your team turner also if you feel comfortable sacrificing one. You lack healers, so I would say you are going to want griffclaw and skyblossum on your team.

I would move your starter toward the end of your team for last stand if needed. I would move your jumboid closer to the front of your line and use sacrifice summon and have your ptera come in to use throw. You also can have team turner near him and a healer. So he can throw/bloodcrave multiple times and then heal him up. I would try to get the trial of earth monster Octojungle and place him after one of your timestrikers will die and give poison revenge. Also use a stun bomber and have one of your timestrikers come in right after that. You can also place some low cost stunners in there if you want to. Twigster is a great stunning entrance cost 4 monster you can catch in some of the online dungeons and also Grizzrex has hold ground, desperate strike, and stun revenge with a cost of 2.

Hope this helps a bit

incidentally, that isn’t my team… so the references to “starter” is a bit confusing. that’s just all my high monsters in order of star, placed in one spot for analysis… I’ll just make a couple assumptions based on what is in the screenshot but I get the feeling I’m missing some pieces of this plan.

Most of them aren’t ultra evolved so I don’t know if ptera has throw for missing 4th skill. Is it his 4th skill? I’ve never actually gotten to see throw get used so I wonder just how hard it hits? I can ultra evolve him if I grab another 70k silver.

Gonna assume alpha is the final form of gearwolf, but my main question is who is the third knockback in the starter team if I move the second team turn monster to the back?

Right now I have 2 healers that are two star, tidalhorn and griffclaw, I have some 1 stars and no star healers as well, but they’re so squishy… I think I’d probably pick tidalhorn out of the two since there’s a lot of fire and water isn’t weak to earth like griffclaw being lightning is. Though tidal would be vulnerable to cybereon, I think this logic makes sense if you agree.

I have twigster, but also curious why would one pick twigster instead of leobolt though(low evolves XD so cost isn’t that big of a problem for me, especially if I throw in some 2 star healers as my rank has gone up to 38 now) Twigster is earth and there’s a lot of fire in that fight… and leobolt will have protector killer element advantage against armada fish for later in.

But seriously that strategy sounds uber scary… and is totally genius, pretty excited to try it once the details are smoothed out, I’m gonna try some experiments while I wait for replies… maybe I’ll win without needing you to put in any more effort.

nope… lack of throw screws that up, but getting bloodcrave in easier from the bronzeshells makes it more consistent!

I do apologize if I was a little confusing. Didn’t mean it to be that way, and I just figured that was your team. You can use “list view” to show more of your monsters at once without squashing them into a 16 man team.

Anyway. I may have been a bit undereducated on the pre evos as the wiki isn’t really updated and my memory isn’t that great and I can only go off of my evolved forms and names mostly.

Alphagear is the evolved form of your dark type team turn. He has bloodcrave, gigablight, team turn, and knock back. Knock back may be the 4th move he learns when evolved. But I would definitely focus on getting them evolved. They are probably one of the absolute best super epic monsters.

Oroblazer is the final form of your unwanted friend fire type. He should have unwanted friend, knock back, mega or gigaflame, and mega or gigablaze.

Barricazor is the evolved form of your dark type protect focus monster. I believe this is where I messed you up because I do some a few protect focus monsters unevolved and they don’t have knock back yet. The evolved form has knock back . My apologies.

And as for the twigster, it’s mainly a cost thing for me as 4 is lower than 6 and they’re not really a powerhouse. Both have the same type of move set with protector killer and accelerate team.

As for the ptera, you are correct again. With a little digging, I can see that you’re right that he doesn’t learn throw until his evolved form. Throw is actually pretty strong. I would say it can one shot most things other than legends, tanks, and a few higher defense super epics. It would one shot the armada fish or something since the element is a benefit. But it sacrifices the last monster in your team. That’s why I had suggested sacrifice summon.

If we need to make some changes or whatever then that’s fine.

Oh and as for starter, I meant the monster you first pick when you start the game, the electric type with last stand and desperate strike and hold ground and stun revenge.

Ideally, your team would look similar to this, just with some of your monsters not being evolved and the placement can be a little different after your first 5 monsters or so.

I see I lack a lot of ingredients to get the protect focus ultra evolved, same for alpha I’ll work on that. I guess powering up another 4-5 mons to ultra should be my primary focus for my tickets in the coming days. Gonna need boatloads of silver and training fruits and some RNG luck with ingredients it appears, quite a bit of a wait ahead. Incidentally I ultra evolved my zephy yesterday since I coincidentally had the ingredients drop while I was actually farming ingredients for alpha and barricadus, that was a little more survivability, but the road ahead is long… first some silver for getting throw! Thanks for all the help! You’re awesome!

If you got a friend code and room on friend list I’ll add ya!

I did start an android account and rerolled for 5 days till I got a penguini. The friend code is 15809573. You also could still possibly take out yulan without evolving much. Ptera would probably be all. But you also can get kills with him using reckless attack or finishing off a hold grounder like darkstag

Yulan is down!

Thanks JRA, just for good measure I closed it and did it again, lost once, and won again. All because I accidentally skipped a bunch of story text in my excitement, and then spotted a typo the first time and realized I might have missed one when skipping.

Well didn’t even evolve anything… just made use of bloodcrave better, and pegassiah kills like 6+ monsters with heals…

Team used below.

Won with death revenge hitting dragaia and Halodrei in the opening barrage where he killed rhyno, and puff, and left hydrablazer and gearwolf with almost nothing.

After that, knockbacked the stag, team turned, unwanted enemy and did a paltry hit with gearwolf before he too died… and then the fight went from there with pegassiah killing 7+ enemies

Gulper ate the shocking entrance and protect focused Barricadus ate all the timestrikes from cybereon for no dmg cuz he kept trying to hit gulper who had 600+ second wait

So abusive! ha!

Can’t believe you downed Yulan with such a weak team. I had issues with a cost of 131 with 3 legendaries.
