I really like redoing old threads. There where just so many great ideas back then. Here we go again…
The idea is simple. 8-16 player enter the tournament and are assigned to random matchups. The rules: Nothing with more than 3 max stars. No epics, super epics, legendaries, or mythics. Winner gets a bunch of likes and my respect. To enter, say your username and friendcode.
Yeah… The only viable strategy in Neo Monsters would be running a one-two Protector Killers in FL (to get rid of Stun Absorbers), two-one Stun Absorber and one Stun Burst monster to spam
Ofcourse they can spice it up like no more then 2-3 epic etc.or you can either add one epic or 2-3 3 star mons. Hell I think there should be another mode in PvP with more tight team cost.
As a relatively new player with a lot of empathy for newer F2P players, I think holding more tournaments with rules similar to the ideas mentioned in the thread would be great for the community. Rules that put more emphasis on super epics or even epics with only a small number of high star monsters allowed should allow a much larger part of the player base to participate and help build a stronger community.
Only problem is that a lot of the commonly available epics and super epics are just carbon copies of each-other, so I’m not sure how much strategy is opened up. But I still think it could be a lot of fun to watch and participate in.
We do hold some weirdass tournaments in the Discord (when people don’t suddenly desert)!
For example, in the tournament going on right now, Mythics are forbidden and you can use maximum one Legendary, no more than B tier (Killerdog’s Tier List used as reference).
Restricting to SEs still gives an enormous advantage to older players with a large collection of them. For example, I’ve got basically every SE that exists and all are +9. What I can create in a “SE only” restriction is going to way outclass any new player.
If you restrict it to epics only then things get really boring because there aren’t many and certain strategies stand out as good for PvP.
However, it’s definitely possible to come up with some clever restrictions that make things fun for everyone.
