Don’t take me wrong I wish this game a very bright future but Geomon gave us so much and HI is still in progress I get that but its nothing compared to Geomon in this state.
I’m not trying to fuel the fire here but…What others are trying to say though is that the comparisons should not be made. The only similarity so far is that they are both monster catching games with PVP. It ends there. If you want to even it out a bit better, compare the very first version of Geomon. It had no chat, no trading less than 100 creatures and it wouldn’t even install on the device I had at the time. It was full of bugs from what I heard.
But all THIS thread was trying to do was to return some interest back to a community forum that we Geomon players had. THAT’S IT
Im not trying to start a fight or arguing with people im just saying my opinion
Great point, Jemni. Compare the first version of Geomon with this version of Hunter Island. That’s what you need to go on.
I’m just tired of people coming over here and talking about how much better Geomon is. This isn’t the place for that. This is the Hunter Island forum.
Go talk about how much better Geomon was over on your Esperclub forum, where it’s more appropriate. People here support Hunter Island. And we wish to make it the best game possible.
And with that, I end my argument here.
Fair enough Jean.
storm, speaking for myself. I was finding less and less to post about over the past few months. I have been too busy to commit to the projects you guys have been working on and so I just haven’t contributed to those. Few people have the same games in common with me, so those threads died. Things fall off my radar all the time and I shift my interests. I have been a contributor on a number of different forums over the years, and as time goes, I move on to other things. It’s just life. HI has my interest currently, but I can’t say how long it will hold it. But I did come back and post a thing or two :D
Well, I’ve never been in Geomon’s beginning, only in the last half of it.
This might be the case, why I’m agreeing with many Geomon players here.
I don’t actually know what made me enjoy Geomon so much in terms of farming.
Maybe it was the ability to control what my espers knew, maybe it was the other kind of effects, other than stun and sleep (amnesia, hurricane)
Maybe it might be the monsters appeared in different weather/time/season.
Maybe it had to do with the limited EP cost (i know theres TU, but its not exactly the same, as you could still attack even though you were out of TU).
Like Jean said, I’m not trying to start an argument of any sort, just saying that this game runs out of things to do. You find all the dragons, complete the missions that the people from town give you, and always get into 10% in OM. What else is there really to do? PVP becomes lackluster pretty quickly and the Infinity Dungeon makes me headache from farming too much.
I’m grateful you came back. Generally, we like to get opinons, even if it is just reading the storyline that good ol’ reset posts. (Ha. I see what you did there. Your radar. (geomon radar I know, i know you probably didn’t intend that… anyways) Because more opinions leads to a better game, my friend. If the general public likes, it I know there might be some people who’ll say, this stinks, or amazingly horrible, but if we can get more opinions to satisfy the general public…well, I’ll be extremely appreciative of any time you guys take.
Mmf. Ah, well. I guess Aquamon does consider alot of commitment. But I don’t think reading a short script here and there would be too much of a hassle, right?
I hope you keep checking!
Maybe there’s something wrong with me. Most of the games (I just recently quit Knights and Dragons…about two days ago) I play for years and then eventually when all my competition dies, I stop. I just quit six or seven games (huge sacrifice… T0T) to work on Aquamon. But I’ve been playing Clash of Clans for longer than I even remember…
Well, I understand, kind of. I really hoped to get more people back, even if it is at least to just keep it active. I guess in times worth I’ll be the only one there, then.
Competition stop in Knights and Dragons??
Its growing much bigger by the second!!
As I’m in a top ten guild, I know this. It takes so many gems to stay in top 10.
I think you misunderstood me. Right now, in this point of time, Geomon is better, that’s my belief. That’s my opinion. That’s why I added “we’ll see,” because I believe in HI. HI has the potential to surpass Geomon, but right I don’t think it does. You can’t possibly say that I’m wrong, because it’s my opinion.
That’s my last statement as well. I just wanted to clarify, since Ashley seemed to get angry at me. LOL.
Sorry for derailing your thread, Storm.’
This is the point Ashley was trying to make. HI is just starting off! It just launched last month. Cut it some slack. They’ll update it. You don’t really invest a ton of time and money on something you don’t know will succeed or not, but if it does, then believe me, it WILL. And then the devs will add new stuff. So just you wait. ^^
I’m thinking we should stop talking about Geomon on this forum. That’s my vote. I vote that every single bit of Geomon discussion gets removed, and never comes back.
Just because a few people want to reminisce about some enjoyable time in another game?
Now, I understand this is the Hunter Island forum, and Hunter Island is TOTALLY different from Geomon, but as long as it doesn’t take over the entire forum, I think it’s fine. What is the harm? If it gets out of hand, just delete the things that were out of control. No need to delete every single thing.
I also might add that this is an Off-Topic forum, and it says “everything unrelated to Hunter Island.” So it’s not breaking any forum rules, either.
Just my two cents. I’m saying this as both a member of the Hunter Island and Geomon community.
I know. It isn’t plausible to make a rule saying talking about Geomon isn’t allowed. I’m just saying that I would sure LIKE that.
People talk more about how much better Geomon was than they do about how to make Hunter Island better.
I understand a lot of people are really feeling left out and upset that we (as in some Geomon players) keep bringing it up.
I’m saying this sincerely. I really apologize if it seemed as if we went overboard. It was a great game. It had a great community. I’m sure the others just wanted the people who didn’t experience Geomon to experience the same things they loved through Hunter Island, that’s all. No one here is superior to another.
Maybe it’s just getting annoying. But I don’t think it’s enough to take action yet, ya know?
Also, when I say “we,” I don’t mean every single Geomon player. :> Though I am guilty of being overly… enthusiastic about Geomon, so this is why I’m apologizing. Better on a Geomon thread than anywhere else, right?

I think the whole point of the comparison is the trading/conditions system but I personally think that the devs can’t implement it due to the number of HI hacks due to the majority of the game located on the client device and besides the devs are working on things like Cosmic Island to work on so I don’t think that HI will especially change over the course of time. Even if they receive feedback the time the return they receive in profit might not be matched by the amount taken to develop implementations. Obviously, it might be improved in consequent games like HI is the spiritual successor to DIB and features improvements like live PVP but somehow I don’t think Cosmic Island is going to be my thing at all.
^ I liked Sita’s post there. Haha.
I think HI will go somewhere. Where? I don’t know, but I firmly believe that it will get better. Just give it some time. It has a lot of potential.
I think that the discussion of geomon is fine here as long as it doesn’t get out of control just like what u said Kookaburra.
No offence to anybody in anyway but it’s sorta turning into a fan war a small fan war. Lol.
This are is an OFF-TOPIC area!!! You didn’t even have to come to this thread and say anything. I haven’t mentioned Geomon in an HI topic, or chat session in quite a while. Intentionally. Nobody else wants to hear about it. I GET IT.
And I completely disagree about there being more talk about Geomon than how to improve HI. Just look at the Suggestions area. But suggestions can only get implemented so quickly. So all we can do in the meantime is sit and talk about other things. This was actually an issue I had with Geomon from the beginning when I joined it. LOTS and LOTS of people had suggestions about how to improve the game, but the devs didn’t do a darn thing for about 6 months. I guess they were working hard on the major upheaval they gave PVP. But they seemed to ignore issues about hacking and people left because of the apparent non-response. I don’t want that to happen to HI. So we can learn something from history so that history is not doomed to repeat itself, no?
I think there a different teams working on Cosmic Island, so I hope they don’t dilute their development efforts. What will keep HI soaring is frequent updates with new features that hold player’s attention.
Last thing I’ll say for now is that more and more Geomon players will find their way here and love this game. We should make all of them feel welcome and let them have a place to reminisce rather than ostracize them/us.
I have to agree with Jemni here, its the off-topic section, and if you dont want to see geomon discussions, avoid the threads, several other mods will read then anyway, and can therefor mod those specific threads.
I very much agree great speech Jemnidad.
Although to be totally fair constantly brining it up make other players awkward. Plus we don’t wanna drown them in geo talk. Yes its gone but we still remember it and it was fun. Thats how a bunch of us know each other. But on the other hand it is time for people to let go, who haven’t.
