From what I can tell the balance between legendaries in the six elements is shockingly pretty good. Earth is still behind, though nowhere near as much as it used to be.
Totally agree! I think water was lacking a bit in some respects as the other elements improved but it’s more level now.
It’s probably just because Throw as a strategy is not the strongest, that’s what holds Earth back. That, and it’s general focus on defensive-type monsters considering there are so many one-shot moves.
TBH I think water used to be an assisted archetype sort of thing but over time it’s shifted away from that. Nowadays I feel like the whole type has been shaped by zib and entrance meta monsters.
TBH it’s more because most earth monsters are weak to stun, and throw in general not only has very little space for absorbers but actively discourages running shockers (since when you send them back you tend to throw them)
Yup, back when water assisted teams were one of the best PvP strategies haha. Before my time but I’ve seen the videos (Lochi I think). However, this was more of a base game strategy and from there I think is where it went a bit varied… maybe because it already had the assisted strategy which was considered strong.
Interesting points about earth. I’d definitely thought before about how shockers don’t fit in well because of their sendback but not really made the relationship between that and throw not fitting into the meta… because there is heavy reliance on shockers to win matches at the moment. I’ll take a look at earth monsters again.

Like I’ve been trying to make throw work and my biggest issue is always dealing with stun. You have to remember that the setup is very slow and you have very few tools to help stall the game since space is so tight, with the best options locked away from you. It makes it too slow for most teams atm
