Dev, Saphireon requires rework

Saphireon is meant to be an anti-stunner, but currently it performs very poorly. Given that most PVP these days are so stun-orientated, there should be a decent anti-stunner, and having an anti-stunner will also force the stun users to think about different strategies.

Here is the skillset I propose:

Necessary:

(1) Unstoppable (passive): stun immunity. How can an anti-stunner be stunned? :slight_smile:

(2) Siesta (active): Similar to Mossgolem’s, put everyone to sleep for x TU. This can help the stunned allies to recover.

Desired:

(3) Time-wraith (active): an AOE attack. Target an ally and the higher its TU is, the higher this AOE damage will be. A little bit similar to time strike. This can heavily punish the stunners, and also can make Saphireon a decent Ark to use even if the opponents do not use any stunners.

Forum members, please feel free to suggest your ideas. There can be 2 more actives and a few more passives.

But yes, we absolutely need an anti-stunner. Ideally there should be more than 1 anti-stunner!

Agreed.  The time-wraith idea is great and would definitely dismantle stun-heavy teams.

Err…not too fond of “unstoppable.”

Stun immunity doesn’t make it unstoppable…stasis, sleep, etc…maybe just “Stunblock” or something.

As for its moves…that sounds VERY overpowered. We want to fix stun, not completely destroy it. If this is implemented, Saphireon will be absolutely fantastic…and overused.

Imagine…you use a powerful 250 TU AoE…deal heavy damage…and then use this…using the 250TU, do even more heavy damage! It’ll be overused and will require an additional nerf.

Therefore, I suggest reducing the power greatly so that at 250 TU, the attack does less damage than an AoE from Omegawyrm (250TU timestrike will OHKO, and this is AoE…therefore, it must be weaker than timestrike if it is to be AoE…if you want it to be single-attack, then you can make it OHKO at 250 TU…but that’s still too OP)

In my opinion, a better move would be to have a move that can remove stun from a party. Idk how that would work though…maybe…oh like that one move in DIB…your Saphy spends TU to reduce the TU of an allied monster. Works just as well as a purify would for stun.

So…costs 50 TU, reduces a single ally’s TU by 125. Doesn’t seem too overpowered, because Purify is really the same…and can also be used as support outside of stun

I totally agree tib, maybe that TU reducing move in place of siesta and possibly instead of a move that uses your teams TU as a multiplier how about a move that is a polar opposite to Timestrike.

It would do high damage to a single enemy ark and at 0 TU it would OHKO any non tank ark an do less and less damage the more TU te target ark has. Give it a dual purpose of stun defense and making fast teams pay.

Hopefully the devs will do something with this an help stop the overused and op stun teams currently used and abused in PVP.

Just got saphireon and have to say that I agree that it needs a better move set. Too many voids and stun killer is too situational to be useful, given that Raijin and Stormfox are already fairly frail. It’s only useful to OHKO Stegospike, but Vegitiger can already do that with Dracobane, further making Saphireon extremely situational.

It needs a general attack other than Stun Killer, just to improve its overall versatility. Something like Rend would be enough.

If it’s stun killer move was re-worked to negate any stun skin effects for arks that it killed, I think it would make the attack viable enough, since it would be useful against Chopperbug, Raioh, Gremknight and Minespider which all see heavy use in pvp.

Yeah a move that reduces ally’s TU is great, though 50 TU (with haste it will be around 30) to trade 125 TU seems a bit OP. Imagine Magmawyrm/Typhoonwyrm’s Vegence, with haste it only costs around 110 TU. They will be able to Vegence every 30 TU. But yeah this is a very good idea, it is just the numbers that require more careful thinking.

I intentionally didn’t specify the damage of time wraith and I trust the devs will be able to make a good judgement.

Cost: 50 TU

Reduces the TU of target by 50. Increased by 150% when enemy has a *stunner in active party.

*Stegospike, Raioh, Raijin, Stornfox, Chopperbug, Kentucky, Sanders, and so on.

That would be great, Tib. He is pretty much unusable at this point and it would be great to add Raioh, Raijin, chopper etc to the list. 

He is the ark I would like most to see enhanced to a usable state in Pvp.
