I prefer to use him in the middle with team turn and give turn technique.
He is seriously a beast when used properly as he can easily take two opponents and heal some of his HP with one devour charge and devour blast.
Not some hp. Almost all of it.
Burnsalot’s main weakness is how slow he is. So the main way to build around him is with stun and GTs. He loves mechaviathan and lavaronix for the fact that he can kill 6 monsters with either one of them. The best place for him is in 7-9th slot with shocking entrance. He also likes serazael quite a bit.
He is even better in pve with him still one-shotting things at floors 10 and 11 in the showdown tower.
I suspect he could be used as a SS line followup in 5. Not sure about this though.
Thing is pretty much any sweeper can kill 4-6 monsters with enough turns. Mr burns is exceptionally tanky and annoying to deal with, so imo it’s better to leave him as a background threat while they are forced to deal with more immediately threatening monsters.
Oh and shield / poison interaction is bugged currently so definitely midgame. He’s too slow for the front anyway, plus you’d have to cannibalise into to get the shield, and why do that if you can cannibalise into motor or bane etc
