Again. You can’t compensate rng. They compensated for the natural drop rate being bugged.
It has to be a global compensation for everyone that hatched, since tracking rng over 100s-1000s of players one by one is just not feasible.
If you spent 1600 gems, aka 4 pity counters, you spent in total 800 gems, which is insane and really good.
I am aware that say something like 4000 might feel like a loss of 400 gems(2000-1600), but it’s actually a gain in 5 mythic copies for those 400 gems. Anyone would be happy for this outcome in a normal scenario where you only spent 400 gems, which means you got 9 shards after spending 2000. (4 x 1600 + 5 x 400) Big stonks.
It is quite literally impossible to say what you would’ve gotten without the bug. (ex. There is someone in the discord whom on the Daji banner, they spent 2400, no bug, and didn’t even hatch her once, just off banners)
The refund addresses the forced cost created by the bug, not luck or unlucky pulls beyond it.
50% is quite generous imo
honestly, if you spent more you walk away with more mythics after the compensation XD.
ex. 8000 gems aka 20 pity counters = 20 mythic Shards.

That’s a ratio of 1 mythic:200 gems.
My guy, if you spent more you walked away with an army of mythic shards for peanuts XD
normal banners, pity is 30 hatches, 1200 gems.
Anniversary it’s 10 at 400.
For the above amount of mythics normally it would cost 24 000 in the worst case.
So, in comparison for that amount you basically walked away with 20 mythics with expected worst cost of LESS than 2 normal ones, and you’re still complaining XD

These are the type of comments i truly dislike, instead of using the average hatching for your example you end up using one guy to represent the population
the average of awaking a mythic is around 800 gems in anniversary, the worst average result is 1200 gems. Sure there will be one guy who awakens in 400 gems and there will be another guy who awakens in 2400 gems
For anyone who managed to awaken the monster from 60 packs, basically they were given the worst average result if the banner was normal, 70 packs you basically lost 400 gems if the banner was normal.
50% compensation is only good for those who awakend in 40 packs because they got the average cost of mythic, the others they got screwed.
Also what you saying that players should have hatched more is completely wrong, no one was trying to exploit as confirmed by the devs all players were genuinely trying to awaken the mythic, put yourself in the place of others before you speak with these ridiculous statements otherwise you make a fool of yourself

I like the part where you latched on to the fact that I used one anecdote just show how messed up rng could be instead of looking at the sheer amount of mythics other than the featured at a hefty discount thanks to the refund.
Truly, I laughed. Hilarious even.
No one is aiming for a random non featured mythic to spend their gems on, and those who are worth it are already obtained by most top players.
its like going to iphone store trying to buy the new iphone and they tell you iphone 10 is on discount it costs 50% of iphone 17 no one wants that garbage anymore.
In fact prior to anniversary were discussing this issue were standard mythic should cost 6star tickets instead if gems because majority of the playerbase dont roll on those banners, and it was decided that the devs will be handing out the egg tickets because they wanted a more expensive approach maybe to encourage spending gems on them
