It’s crazy how complex these new SE are compared to some old legendaries.

Yeah, he’s at a similar level of complexity as those new six trials EX monsters… or even moreso. (And I remember back when Twighoul felt like an unprecedented level of complexity for an SE.)

If I’m being honest I think it was taken a little far for a 5★ monster, but I’m not going to complain about it because I think overall this is a good direction for new releases and it’s what a lot of us have been asking for.

So I love the spirit of this crazy dude even if I feel like the moveset is very weak. But points for style and creativity.

One should remember. They nerfed Prism for this

Prism was nerfed for this so-called new super link monster which is just mediocre…

Yeah, you might be on to something here. It almost seems like this guy was created in the lab to be strong and game changing, and upon completion, someone saw it was only a Super Epic and said to make Soulmine a LINK move… Boom, powerful new Super Epic LINK monster that will change the meta. Even though nothing else about it has anything to do with LINK. In fact, its passive wants SOLO. Strange.

The idea is to use 3 monsters of the same element + B.T. Sunder.

LINK Soulmine is a brand-new mechanic, one we’ve never tried in the game before, and it can only be defused by Knockback, so we wanted to play it safe for now. I believe we’ll either lower the TU or remove the restriction in a future tweak.

Other ideas we could try:

  • It deals lethal damage to all enemies instead… (better reward)
  • the implanted monster explodes after a certain amount of time, dealing damage to your entire team… (higher risk)

Option 1 makes it viable. Possibly overkill though

However i think you need to remove the restriction that only allows one at a time. At most it gets three kills and can deal 60% damage every 150 seconds as a result lmao. Thats assuming it gets the kills. If not its just a pointless extra restriction.

Yes, Link Soulmine would need another Fire element ally on the field to use, and Prism…

But all jokes aside, I think i see why you were excited about this guy. Soulmine, definitely its best move, is a very interesting idea. It will take out the attacking monster, ignoring HG and Shield. That is very strong. But if opponent doesn’t know which monster it is, I don’t see the point in wasting a monster’s turn using knockback when there’s a higher chance you will pick wrong. The best option would always be to continue as normal and just expect to take a hit back. to use Knockback and waste time and still get a surprise Ferocious Revenge would be too much of a risk.

However, If the opponent can see the Soulmine, there is more reason to use knockback and try defusing it, absolutely. and since it can’t be negated, it could also cause the opponent to leave that monster alive. If it’s a quick sweeping monster, it will probably have to be killed anyway. My point is even if the opponent can see the mine, it will probably create more interesting situations and choices. But i am interested in seeing how it plays on the field! Maybe everyone will just throw random knockbacks and repulses and hope for the best.

Wait why are we considering how to make this better if Prism had to get nerfed for it to exist

I haven’t tried it on my team yet, but I’m sure its abilities are completely mediocre. You said you weakened Prism because it was going to be good? I’m sure that wasn’t the case. Also, what was the need to weaken Vixian? She was a pretty usable and well-rounded Mythic, and that increased time on her Cleanse attack was a disaster for her. And what about the fact that now she has to wait 50 seconds from her first turn to cleanse? Wasn’t it enough to mess her up a little, and then you went and made her completely useless? There are Mythics that need nerfs, and you go after the ones that don’t. Wow, I’m surprised. I hope you regret this decision and reverse it.

The reason they nerfed it is because its old, the new link bullshit is just a random excuse

The art here is wild and I love it.

The concept behind soulmine is brilliant, it’s an incredible idea for a mechanic!

The monster itself… all over the place and failing to achieve what it wants to. The most exciting move is link, but it’s low speed and low defence so not a reliable payoff for making the effort to build around link fire. If you go solo then it gets a defence buff, but then you cannot use the special move. The first two moves are incredibly niche.

So, ironically, I think the way to play it is in solo fire and simply for raw stun immune punisher. 100TU sweeping on a tanky SE is decent plus it’s stun immune itself and doing raw sweeping. You can probably find a target or two then if you have some stun in your team you can kill the temporary stun immune enemies. I don’t know if that’s what the Devs were hoping to hear is the best way to use it :upside_down_face:

@Dev_VKC Link is a long neglected mechanic in the game and so is the fire element. These days it’s more common for people to be asking for solo and link conditions to be removed from monsters because those limitations are not normalised any more and many people don’t even realise the benefit is you get a lower TU move, they just see it as a restriction. So I think a design like this has big hurdles to overcome before the mechanic itself is even considered. As for soulmine, please don’t be discouraged when I say I think no one will ever make this monster work in a link team. If you want that to be the goal of the monster, you’ll need to make changes.

The idea in my head right now:

  • Change the defence buff to be for link fire.
  • Increase its speed from 32% to 52%. (exact numbers not important here, but some increase would be nice)
  • Decrease the TU of link soulmine to 80 or 100.
  • Increase the TU of raw stun immune punisher to 130TU.

Then it would be worthy of the statement:
