Fresh starter here, just finished the story mode. Right now i’m trying to catch all the Monsters out there. Since it’s really a pain in the ass if you’re fighting some A / S Wilds you’d like to catch but kill em instead i’m wondering whether there is a special attack on some arcs which reduce the monsters HP to only 1 instead of killing them (Similar to WoW Pet Battle)?

No there’s no way to get them to 1 hp this ain’t no false swipe pokemon game 
False swipe was very useful when i filled up pokedex lol
