Why does the main quest feature really buffed monsters?

I’ve been playing Neomonsters for some time. While I didn’t get any legendaries, playing the story (Khanate Invasion arc) or even before (Grand Four+Beritus) was torture due to how buffed the monsters were and due to the fact that all members were legendary/SE.

Now I have 4 Legendaries with a good number of Super Epics but most SE do ~ 40% damage on Chrono Killer hits. Add that to the fact that I’m currently facing dowm two Bahamuzars with shields up as well as doubles of many tanky legendaries

Is there any way to counter buffed teams with the one I currently have?

I would try dark assisted fl. Novadrake, noxar, alphagear and bitterbeast. Nulltron is very useful with stunner.
