Ever since unlocking the final level of fortune shrine, I’ve been getting nearly 10 new legendaries per month… And only evolving 2 per month (or less).
So now I’ve got an insane backlog and I’m trying to prioritize. This is my list so far… Does anyone feel like I’m making any egregious mistakes here?
Immediate:
Kattmander
Spectrofin
Oakthulu
And then:
Sacrumega
Zhulong
Exocross (6*)
Satomi (6*)
Albakhan
Necrowing
Having Kattmander and Oakthulhu as your top priorities is… Weird? Maybe there are some personal reasons I don’t know about. Spectrophin will be useful when paired with phantom monsters.
Your choices depend entirely on content you want to play. That being said there are a few monsters that will be great for general use.
-Blacktitan: this guy has a 90% speed retreat which you can use to your advantage for initiating many combos. Definitely worth evolving.
-Cetaskagon. One of the best stun absorbers in the game atm. It has full defense so it’s a great option for HP boosting.
-Cyclozar got a great buff very recently.
-Sarcrosphinx: essential monster for mortar strategy.
-Dolphoone is a useful one especially if you hatch Dolphreeze at some point.
-Arboribratus is the brother of Oakthulhu, if you evolve Oak, you should eventually evolve Arboribratus too.
As I said it depends are you going to use it in PvP or PvE. I also don’t know your current collection.
In the case of Cyclozar, 50% damage and Defense buff if there’s another aquatic monster on your side is pretty good on a full atk monster.
Katt is still a good choice and a fun monster. Many top PvP players will disagree with this though. There are probably better options for Katt’s slot now.
I would say for PvE:
-Sacrumega
-Cosmodragon
-Exocross
-Sarcrosphinx if you have many mortar monsters
for PvP:
-Your “eventually”-list except Tyrfina
-Katt
I will give my opinion and the reason why the following mons would evolve
centaureon: counteract the dream or the poison, it all depends on you.
tyrfina: she is excellent in the endgame.
Rinhoel and Jackolene are monsters that give dead weight to the rival so executing them is not bad at all.
cetaskagon: excellent paralysis absorber and has raw hypnotism so it gives you control of the game.
Spectrofin: with some darkness to accompany it is excellent.
I don’t know your play style but terrordragon, albhakan, tridhakan you could probably put together an end game with them (I don’t know your hero rank obviously they are not the best in poison but it is an option)
This is solid advice. I agree with this. Unless you have good shadow monsters, I wouldn’t worry about Zhulong either. He’s cool but quite niche. @lebowquade
Thanks everybody. Cetaskegon and blacktitan weren’t ones I was considering but I’ll definitely give them a shot.
I rarely ever do PvP so I’ll probably hold off on centaurion for now, but I’ll probably drop oakthulu lower on my list. I’ll prioritize Katt, Cetaskegon, albakhan, cosmodragon, spectrofin, and sacrumega.
I was hoping to pair him with tenebris and auro, since auro has purifying mist it syncs with tenebris and zhulong, and of course auro and tenebris work because of the cloning.
I thought perhaps tenebris, zhulong, auro, and hanzo would make a for a very irritating FL.
Ah ok! If you have the support then great. I’ve managed to get top 10 with a Zhulong FL. I find running something that can stealth in the FL as well as something in 5th always works well
Kattmander after nerf its litteraly dead , just becasue exu were arguing before that its not dead he wont say it but he just admitted its a bad choice now

It used to have a very specific FL role which it doesn’t fulfill anymore. In other spots it’s still very usable, but for top PvP frontlines there are probably better alternatives. The whole debacle with Duck was due to our differing opinions about what’s “unusable” or “dead” (how he likes to say it) and what’s not.
I find that a bit confusing because kattmander was strongest when used in the frontline and that’s still the case even now. If it’s not usable in the frontline, why would it be better in other weaker positions? I have yet to face or hear about a kattmander setup where I couldn’t consistently ignore it for almost 200 seconds after it enters the field unless there isn’t a single pressing target among the opponent’s other monsters. That’s maybe B tier at best.
Also the thing with opposing standards is you were jumping into a pvp thread and essentially enforcing the standards of a pve player who barely touches pvp. It wouldn’t be so different if I were to go on some UC thread recommending players use shikabloom because it also has buffed stats. Any competent UC player would know that it sucks but I doubt it would hinder me much from getting top 500 if I ever feel like playing it again.
