The Stun Question

Having played my fair share of matches, there’s something that’s always bothered me. Why is it that when a Stun Counter and Stun Converter monster are on the field at the same time when they get stunned, they both get a turn? The way I see it, Stun Counter takes priority over all the other anti-Stun passives, hence it should be the only one affected by the stun. Stun Absorber mons don’t absorb the stun that gets countered by the Stun Counter, so why should a Converter monster get a turn when the stun’s been countered? I apologize if it comes across as complicated, but it’s a question that’s been bugging me for ages.

I agree only the stun counter should get the turn but pragraming that would be a pain in the ash for devs to implement

Just how the game mechanics are.

I was literally just talking to another player about this, it bugs me too. On top of that, why would stun converters get a turn with an absorber on the field? The stun says ‘MISS’ on monsters when there’s an absorber or a counter on the field so why does it act like they got hit by the stun?

I tell you why because players wanted it like this…stun counters were not so common in the past and players used stun absorbers and they were complaing why my stun convertor does not get turn when stun absorber is stunned.

AP got nerfed to hell , it’s about time stun converters n counters are put in their place too !!

(Regalion buff when)

Interesting points. I see where you are coming from in regards to what might seem logical. Same logic applys to retribution teams. It bothers me that a monster can canabilse itself and trigger retribution from its own team mates. “Retribution” should be a response to something the other team did. . .

I don’t want either to be nerfed though. Players take a risk when putting all their convertors and counters close together. If they get smoked other parts of the team could be exposed to Stun. So I’m inclined to think it’s a bit more balanced this way although it doesn’t feel logical.

What if your team mate just stabbed himself for Honor instead of dying at enemy’s hands ! Won’t you avenge his death !!

Canabalising oneself is most dishonourable. There is only one monster that does it properly in the whole game, and deserves retribution. Have a guess who.

That’s a good pun

Stun absorber states that it absorbs stun used against teammates, so basically as they get hit by stun it gets transferred over to the absorber.

Both stun counter and stun converter have an “instead” clause so before the stun actually takes effect their passive triggers and gives them a turn. For stun converter it cancels any stun on the monster as it triggers, for stun counter it cancels any stun against the whole team. However, they will both trigger at the same time because they happen before the stun hits your monsters, which means they happen before stun absorber triggers.

It’s a minor detail and I know that coding comes first before the language used to describe it but as someone who is very into Magic: the Gathering card game I appreciate the finer points of the language used to describe how these things interact when more than one are involved.

Many people like to complain about roaring entrance and some call it a bug when the monster enters at 1TU. However, it’s clearly described in the passive description that it sets the monster’s TU to 0 “or as close to it as possible”, so when a monster has a turn already at that exact moment the roaring entrance will enter at 1TU. It’s a clever little detail that allows for the passive to be worked around. In the case of stun counter it means you can stop a stun absorber from being an absorber if you use it with a stun counter monster.

So why can’t I use a stun pulse against any enemy monster if there’s a stun absorber on the field if it only absorbs stun used against teammates?

You can, but it requires you to target the absorber. Even if there is a protector you target the absorber and it’ll get blocked by the protector then absorbed into the absorber.

Sorry I meant other than the absorber, my apologies for not being clearer
