People were writing their names in threads for fun, myself to make a brand and MementoMori because he thought it looked cool when I did it. However, it became “narcissistic”.

I think is even right to give credits to who worked hard to put down a guide or similar.

It looks like you are putting legitimately your name on your work.
If they want to take it badly is up to them.
Go change the whales treasure extinction theory to “DMG DonT89’s Whales Treasure: Monster Extinction Theory” then unless it really wasn’t you who came up with this and you’re just a messenger . Take ownership of your ideas!
Okay I’ll put it another way… it’s showing you think what you’ve written is worthy enough to put your name on, as if it has value like a piece of art.
Not to say that I agree with people assuming this, but that’s how they’re seeing it.

If people want to make money writing guides, groups exist out there that pay good money for guides. Though none exist for neo cause it’s a pretty underground game.
