Speed glitch?

So a friend of mine on line showed me an interesting predicament recently. In pvp, he fought a guy who’s oniblade outsped his galvbane. Now, the galvbane was in slot 1, had 9+ bonus, was 9+ on speed (we checked everything) and the enemy oni was in slot 2 or 3. So you know the base speed difference is 10%, so a 9+ oni vs a 0+ galv shouldn’t work anyway, so why In hell did this happen? Not to mention the oni wasn’t even 9+

Because devs used the new RNG algorithm for both the dmg of raw assassinate and fl speeds now.

So delug could outspeed galv now too. Great. They ruined speed

Their new rng ruined everything.

Single kill bloodcraves, solo moves (I might be wrong if solo moves should not have better dmg), etc. And events like DC.

Yes, the RNG for FL speed is trash and just plain horrible.

May, April 2016 forever be a cursed month among all the months of the year, April Version release notes excerpt:

Better PvP experience? The only randomness that is needed is when two monsters with identical speed and FL slot position are faced against each other. Then it should be a coin toss. Anything else is not giving us a better PvP experience.

Well my Galliodragon is never been out speeded by anybody else honestly… So I think the probability is very low btw to be out speeded.

Lol that was me rephrasing what they wrote. They wrote something similar but in a long winded paragraph I think and it was talking about the same monsters against each other with the same bonus. They also didn’t want, say, Oniblade+8 vs Oniblade+9 for the +9 version to ALWAYS go first. That’s the definite “better” experience.

I don’t think that’s a better experience. +9 should always go first.

Unless potions are totally free, why should Oniblade+8 deserve to be faster than Oniblade+9?

And why should a 1% slower monster have a chance to outspeed a 1% faster monster (midas vs fox is an example, 51% vs 52%)

To not make the game fixed.
Adding this rng factor changes results of certain games.

It shouldn’t

Then you should take away the effect of pots on speed and remove the rng factor in speed then you will have a fixed game and by doing so its pretty much alot easier to create a fixed meta.

Maybe lots to just reduce TU instead of entrance speed?

RNG can still play a role. When both are identical in speed RNG can determine who goes first.

We never touch the speed in the recent updates. It has been like this since forever.
But we understand it doesn’t mean what we have right now is perfect.
Please let us know how often this happens, and what monsters.
Thanks.

The speed mechanic just sucks. It’s pretty much every monster.

It’s really not a monster issue. It’s the design itself that needs an overhaul. Just keep it simple & logical. Remove the RNG factor out of the equation unless both monsters have identical speed, pots and slot position.
