SOTF

Just curious how far people normally get in SOTF. I’ve been playing since the beginning of this one, have lost only 3-4 matches, have spent tickets only on this except when I did the power up event (which replenished my tickets) and I’m only at 73 – not even halfway to the top prize. I’ll probably try to win 5 or 12 more to get the next prizes, but I’m not understanding how anyone gets to the top without spending gems – which seems silly considering gems and rare gems are the top prizes.

Yep you can’t get there without spending gems sadly

That seems out of balance. Why spend gems to get gems?

Because there’s rare gems at the top, which means a better chance of getting a legend.

I get that. If I were getting to 130ish based on the normal time constraints/recharging, I’d consider spending a few gems for the chance to basically convert them to rare gems. But this far down, the calculation is to spend a BUNCH of gems just for the chance that you may or may not win enough games to get you gems and eventually rare gems that may or may not give you a legendary. If the top prize were a chance to get one of four randomly selected legendaries, for example, I’m sure people would spend gems like crazy to get there. Gems --> monsters is the normal currency --> commodity conversion in the game, so that wouldn’t be totally out of balance.

I am currently on lvl 80.  I lost a few games because my phone rebooted on me since I have been having issues.  I would have gotten higher if I didn’t do the super money thing and the omegamid.  I wish they wouldn’t put these events right next to each other all the time… both require a ridiculously high amount of tickets…

lvl 78 and that’s enough for me

superboring to get there

I just reached 67 on both accounts (finally could upgrade to Banedragon on one, yay) and boy was that a stupid slog even though I finally had teams capable of handing the event quite well to that point. Pretty bad event and I don’t think I’ll ever get much further than necessary to get the Vorabook.

I’m at 83, lost I think two times and spend 80 tickets on super fruits and silver.
That’s definitely the most boring event, since you can’t even finish it and the battles are not really varied

at higher levels it is also very redundant to UC, but I think every single time there´s a soft people complain in a huge thread yet no words from the devs about soft.

I’m not really trying to “complain,” per se.  It’s their game, and they can do what they want.  Just pointing out that it seems pretty out of balance and the incentive for spending/grinding to the top is very low since you essentially would have to spend what you’d get as a reward (and depending on how strong the buffs are at the very high levels, the reward would by no means be a certainty).  As I mentioned in a previous post, I’d considering spending some gems if I needed to push another 10-20 levels.  But for 50-70 levels, having to spend gems just to get gems and MAYBE rare gems is not worth it.

You can get to 121 assuming you lose no battles and don’t cap tickets and start the event with 90+ tickets already charged. The event doles out 9 Gems and 3 Rare Gems. Assuming you have a solid team, you should be able to make it to 150 without too much difficulty. Typically this will require you to spend anywhere from 5-7 gems you gained from the event. Although you don’t get many net gems this way, you still profit as:

2-4 Gems

3 Rare Gems

The other standard lower tier rewards

Currently 9.5 days have passed. Assuming you started with 90+ tickets, the highest you can be without gemming is (9.6*9.5)+6= Floor 97.

I’m on Floor 130 at the moment, and have spent 6 gems I gained from the event. So technically I’m at floor 94 (max 97), which makes sense, as I started with 96 tickets and have only lost 3 times, and have never capped tickets since event start.

5 Rare Gems give 40% Leg chance

5 Gems give 4% (or 6.1%) Leg chance

It is always worth it to go for the Rare Gems in SotF if you have the time and a decent team (SotF 100 = UC 66; SotF 150 = UC 100), as you trade 1-1.5 normal egg rolls for 0.6 of a rare egg roll; and one rare egg roll is worth slightly less than 10 normal egg rolls (due to getting more mons overall, despite similar odds that I don’t want to feel like digging up from another thread atm).

The most important thing to note here is anybody should be able to get to SotF 100 without gemming for both leg pots if they have completed all online/offline story.

Good explanation; thanks. I’m at hero level 84, so my ticket max is still 78. How crazy are the buffs at level 130? Analogous to what to level on UC would you say?

Well, the general formula I’ve come up with, while not exact, but appears mostly accurate from members I’ve discussed in RoA is that SotF = 0.66*UC. I also edited my above post with a bit more info.

So:

SotF 50 = UC 33

SotF 100 = UC 66 (Most experienced players should be able to beat UC 66 with some planning even without legs)

SotF 150 = UC 100 (Not hard, but requires some good setup and thinking, and a little bit of luck if you don’t have bloodfury or bloodthirst)

For SotF 130: Dreamhunt does not oneshot tanky legends and leaves them with 30% HP atm (Keep in mind I’m using Metatherion, who only has 4.6k atk, unlike the other sleep legs with 5.7k atk). Legends with an even 4.6k spread like Warca are left with 1% HP or dead (which is actually annoying). All SEs are dead or HG. Fast strike from Chronozeros with 20s gap does about 50% damage to most SEs and legs. Bloodcrave with 1 charge does about 30% HP to most SEs and legs. Timestrike at 300 TU does about 70% HP to most SEs and legs. I don’t use bloodthirst anymore, but it should be able to oneshot most SEs and twoshot anything that lives (aside from HG tanks, obviously).

Very helpful – thank you. im too far down this time around, but will try to go for the gold on a future SOTF when I have more max tickets.

Cheers, there is technically still enough time for 33 more battles purely from ticket recharge before the event ends. So if you think you can make the push for 100 and have the patience, you can definitely still get it. Also yes, reaching the 90 ticket cap is a huge bonus for SotF. You have quite a bit more team cost by then, an extra battle at start and saves you one gem if you gem the remaining battles to 150.

Thanks.  I’m up to 78 now so we’ll see.  Will be tight to get to 100 at this point but I feel good about getting the reward at 85.
