Please Confirm AOE Passive Mechanics

When Thlug Betty is Theasted upon by another Thlug, it puts all enemies to sleep regardless if the enemy is camouflaged or stealthed.

However, when Flocculasaurus enters the battlefield enemies that are camouflaged or stealthed either don’t receive damage (camo) or merely have its stealth removed.

Camouflage states “this monster is not affected by enemy active skills that affect more than one monster.” Stealth states that “the user will be immune to enemy active skills that affect multiple monsters.”

Betty’s passive states that it “puts all enemies to sleep”. Flocc’s passive states that it “deals medium damage to all enemies”.

What’s the difference? They’re both passives and they both states that the passive affects all enemies. It seems like Flocc’s passive should indeed cause damage to camouflaged and stealthed enemies.

Same case with static and bulbie

Some mechanics are not consistent and they should be looked upon on.

death revenge not triggering by cannibalize while stun revenge and posion revenge can be triggered.

Make either all of them not trigger or all of them trigger stay consistent to the mechanics.

Also any aoe effect should not target camouflage or stealthed just like the sleep you mentioned.

I think this has been suggested before for the devs and they said they will look on it but no result. I could be wrong tho.

Nah death revenge/cannabalise was a thing and was stupid as hell.

Passives could be changed so if they stealthed/camo, they don’t get effected by effects that are AoE but I don’t want to see another nerf to shockers. We already have enough…

This is very interesting. I mentioned that this setting was too strong before, so I am looking forward to seeing the official opinion

Non-damage things put on enemies as a revenge always get past stealth. E.g. poison revenge, sleep revenge, stun revenge.

It’s a little bit inconsistent, but basically camouflage/stealth saves monsters from active moves + damaging passive moves. I think the description should be updated to say that.

Deviladius Death sentance all ignores stealth and camo too

It would be very disappointing if this were the case with Flocc, as it specifically states active skills don’t affect camo/stealth and Flocc’s damage is passive. One of the big reasons why Flocc was a priority buy for me. @Dev_BRD @Dev_VKC any input?

Like Killerdog said, we separate it into damage passive and non-damage passive.
But you have a point. The text is not 100% accurate.

When we first created a passive that deals damage (Explosion Revenge), Staticsphere turned out to be very disgusting during testing. So we made the change on purpose to counter it.

Now that meta has shifted to more “defensive”, we believe instead of changing the Stealth text, we can change how it works.

Therefore, Staticsphere, Bulbieboom and Flocculasaurus’s passive skills will deal damage to the monsters in Stealth or Camouflage. This will be applied in the next update (please don’t ask when is the next update :zipper_mouth_face:).

Thanks

HAH, didn’t get it your way this time

Hahaha! Looks like Sir puffball and happy lightbulb will be getting buffed. I own them both so not too shabby.

@Dev_VKC I think where this will make the biggest impact is in PvE. Please keep it in mind when you add the monsters into enemy line-ups, especially Staticsphere. A few battles have had 2-3 Staticspheres in the past which will clone themselves and stealth all has been vital to get past them. Now there’s no way to counter Staticsphere spam, which does concern me a little.

Maybe you could also change payback killer to target Staticsphere?
