The reason why everything is going to ■■■■ lately is because people use punishment to send their message actually, but I don’t want to get political so I’ll leave it at that.
And hitting people in the head won’t make them respect you, at most they’ll fear you, and maybe play nice for a time. One slip up though and all their repressed hate will come back to bite you. And rightfully so.

Being kind is not weak and it doesn’t mean you’ll be taken advantage of. Just look at how to manage any romantic relationship… you listen, compromise and avoid shouting or disrespecting each other. Sometimes you have to stand your ground or be more forceful but only when the situation calls for it.
The principles are the same elsewhere, only you don’t start from a place of respecting each other so you are slightly less compassionate and may need to bring the heat more swiftly if you’re not getting a good response. The best approach is always to be kind and respectful. You’ve just got to know when to be ruthless too because some people don’t respond to anything else or they need a proper reminder that they overstepped so they act better moving forward.
Anyway when it comes to this MasterMarco situation it’s more like two children trading punches because neither has any authority over the other and communication has broken down. Nobody is “teaching him” anything but BMing him or writing “FMM” in his name because clearly that’s not going to work with this guy.
It never was and never will be. As detailed above, there’s simply a time and place for taking appropriate action. However, the “punishment” people are giving MasterMarco is ineffective now so it’s pointless and rude. The real punishment he needs is being suspended from PvP / online content. That’s what will actually make a difference.

Another match with Marco which lasted nearly an hour and unfortunately I lost because I had to leave. It’s so annoying that he actually gets rewarded for this.
Until the devs do something, I will continue to call for the community to take a joint action, as there is nothing to lose from not trying. He is going to BM no matter what. If every single game, every player took 26 seconds to make a move, he’d soon learn that it isn’t fun.

We aren’t just ganging up against someone. He is trying to annoy us on purpose. Among other things, that explicitly goes against the community guidelines. He is going against an entire community, so an eye for an eye seems fair.

We can’t punish him so that he stops of his own accord. The only way to stop him is to ban him from pvp.
If I was BMing and suddenly every game had every turn taking 25 seconds, I would soon stop because I want to play the game. So far this plan has a 100% success rate and there is NOTHING to be lost for not trying
