Since the game is going to reach the 10th anniversary, but they said NeoMonsters 2 is not coming, I was curious to know if there are any talks about partially open sourcing the game or at least be open to mods.
Back in the days, I used to like a strategy game where people could draw maps and stories with a software released by the same company, and that allowed people to make a custom story that could be simply downloaded and imported on the game, with a custom file format. Since events are rarely updated, and stories are already forgotten, I thought that could be a pretty cool thing to add to this game.
the game is dying and is taking the last breaths it can, also seeing that the developer is bothered by the manipulation of the files in the āSaveā folder, what would he think of this, also the game does not have support for external mods it would involve a lot of programming and if they fail with the Monsters, much more in this, and the game is not like terraria or stardew valley, there are universal rules for pvp and pve that everyone has to respect, and nothing external could leave rewards, but if you want I will leave you the tools to reverse engineer the game, I did not know nor did I want to waste my time on that, postscript is a joke
The level of disinterest in the game is also so great that the online story has not been translated, and there are many things to improve in the game, dedicating time to such a big change in the game just for it to work offline, I donāt think they are going to do it, unless they create a new story for pay and give strange rewards as I have seen in other games
Personally Iām not interested in programming, although I have some basic understanding of the most common languages. However, drawing maps for new islands would be fun (afterall the system is already there) as well as making some stories like the ones from the online additional chapters. Those are also present in the game, so I donāt see why not involving the community in a way or another.
Offline playing would be okay for me; Iām always bothered by games that ask you to be always online so..
