Oak rework

Can oak poison siphon be unlimited again?
Reduce the dmg for the compensation.
Thankyou

Even if it kept the same damage it’d still be pretty balanced I think. Oakthulhu has been powercrept quite a bit

Oakthulhu needs a buff more than just unlimited siphon. I remember when it was nerfed and it was slowly getting played less at the time anyway. It was a bad nerf back then and it still would not change anything if they reverted everything back

Back then (2016 ig ) it was cost 14 , then made it to cost 16,
Now that secret skill is very situational coz so many counters to it,

Plus there are countershock + antidote who just ignore hold ground,

Rework of secret skill + siphon being unlimited should make it worth for being cost 16

Seeing the new mythics at cost 17 & so many broken movesets, ( + unnecessary nudity)

Oak deserves some buff or rework

And General Oak :eyes:

Oakthulhu cost was 15, then in July 2019 (version 2.8) Oakthulhu got hit with a double nerf… it became 16 cost and double repulse went from 70TU → 100TU. Arboribratus came out only 1-2 months later, so that was presumably why the SS got a cost change.

I’ve honestly not felt the difference with the double poison siphon having a 5-use restriction. It wasn’t intended as a nerf… it was to stop infinite loops if it’s the last remaining monster on a team. It’s slightly hypocritical because a lot of these still exist, but 5 uses is basically enough in most cases.

The actual nerf which mattered a lot was the double repulse TU, which happened to every repulse monster and was necessary. It turned Oak from a top monster (at the time) into just a good one.

It’s still playable today. In a poison team it can do a good amount of work and the combo with Arboribratus is decent. I used it for a couple of seasons earlier this year and was very happy with it. It simply relies on other poison sweepers because it’s more focused around support. Making ultraquake a better move would be the thing to buff I reckon, if they wanted to improve it. The other moves are all good.

You know you might be onto something. I’m gonna try him later with Woolala and they might be the perfect duo. She puts everything below 50% health in two turns and Oak loves to deal around 50% of their health (unless they are squishy unit or ok defensive storm unit).

I did lose a game to him against BVN today and I was winning position. (Yes it was absolutely thanks to Oak + his stun) I even had stun bisector but he still stunned me enough to take back the game.

Oakthulhu sucks, don’t let @Killerdog tell you otherwise. Buff both of them!

A question, for you, which are the best clans/guilds in the game? @NMEduck

There is a DM feature on the forum :slightly_smiling_face:

Are you really trying to validate oakthulu cost 16 (sigh)

His main gameplay was poison siphon to survive long enough for survivor to charge up,
Thing is oak was also good choice as pve monster due to siphon being unlimited use,
If you need to pair it with stun absorber /protect monster(dont know name) ,
That flexibility is gone in today’s meta ,
Stealth with mist & drop being used constantly,
For late game players they dont need oakthulu, and early players need to make it +9 first to fully utilize it,
But being cost 16 is not a viable option ,

You may not have felt the difference but as a player who used oakthulu profoundly in every event and cherished it more than any monster, i belive it needs a proper rework for being a cost 16

Lets be honest, adding oak to your team is handicapping yourself right now in this current meta,
Ill say it again,
Antitode & countershock literally one-shot oakthulu

I dont understand which aspect of it is playable for you

Now you cant even target monsters with siphon if they are not poisoned or have poison immunity

A real question, wat r u doing here ???

Back into playing neo. Hello

normal oak i dont use him like in years but the shiny one i do quite regularly tbh
he got a nice damage buff last year i believe
16 cost tho its too much 14 or 15 would be more balanced
both of then are now outdated just like most of old legends and mythics

I see no problem in removing the 5 use limit. Oak is an outdated legendary.
