New UC SE

I hope AI doesn’t make that move at UC

Just after 2 days since I got Aurodragon this monster came out :sob:

Looks like a sleep and revival counter. Worst nightmare to face in UC but quite bad to use yourself because the speed is low and high defence/HP won’t help you much there.

Ascension all pretty much counteracts the sleep curse move so that’s a bit disappointing.

I can’t see it really being useful in PvP except against “link” phantom teams (if those become a thing in the future). In PvE it’ll be good for specific challenges where the enemy team has revival monsters. Other than that, I don’t think it has much use.

It’ll join the list of monsters I hate to meet in UC that shouldn’t really be used in teams because they only work for the first bit yet people still use them later (along with Void).

In other words, they created a monster to counter me. Goes to show how much they fear me.

So I guess a question would be is does this monster work against mons that clone themselves or create new ones? Specifically I’m curious towards Revanarchion, Lion mythic, Zeuswyrm, things like that.

Welcome to the club

Yes. If you use the filter function in the game and select “revival” you’ll see the kind of monsters it will kill. Basically anything that involves creating another monster in some way (other than adding tokens).

Ok that’s a pretty neat ability then. Like has been said, I dont see it being big in PvP but could be great in certain PvE matches.

This guy’s got a LOT going on… I’ll try to unpack things one at a time.

  • SO happy to see Shock making a return, it’s such a simple yet incredible utility move that can be an absolute plague on shield/stealth/hg spammers. Can’t forget the potential to wake sleeping allies or trigger their overwatch either.

  • I think Sleep Curse might turn out to be absolutely brilliant; if you use it on an enemy that’s 100 TU or more away, then it’s basically like putting them to sleep for 420 TU instead of 320. What’s more, you can’t shut it down with a reflexive purify the way you can with other sleep moves; you have to wait until it actually goes to sleep, which demands the luxury of being able to time it right that your opponent may not be inclined to give you. Obviously they can still pull back, backstab, etc., but being able to force their hand like that is still worth something; still managed to deny that specific monster another turn after all.

  • Ghost Buster looks to be continuing the crusade of introducing types to the fray; I suspect that all event SEs from this point forward will have one of these kinds of moves. Not much to say, just hoping that it won’t result in the same unfair scenario as DCS.

  • Ascension all is a first; unfortunately it’ll severely limit his synergy, since the opponent can use him to remove both poison and sleep from their monsters. But if you don’t like either your monsters or theirs being poisoned, then this’d be a good way to help see to it. Plus the obvious threat to enemy sleep locks.

  • Finally, the elephant in the room… Divine punishment. Let’s do a quick little roll call to see what kind of impact we’re looking at: Atrahasis, Aurodragon, Angelion(SS), Cryptblade, Horrorclaw, Spookoid, Crimseias, Sanctihoof, Sacrumega, Tortogeist. Probably safe to assume that the revenge effects will be nullified, too. Looking to be quite the tossup, denying those mons of their otherwise virtually guaranteed thievery of your precious sweepers. Torto is the one most deserving of this fate imo, though auro FLs could certainly stand to have another little counter. The incredibly low speed will certainly prevent this guy from getting away with a whole lot, but if you can afford to be patient enough he can definitely make stuff happen against the right enemy.

I wouldn’t say I’m justifying it, really just commenting on it lol

Then you introduce payback killer
