Great work getting these out so quickly, as always.
You use a good mixture of teams for each of the battles. Lots of ideas for people who aren’t seasoned UC players. I like your time attack team for lvl 200 GK, I’ll have to use that myself next UC for the quick win
Btw I just want to put this out there… Simuronix (the SE from PvP a few months back) has a move called Equalise (130TU) which is a global HP share. In high UC this will basically halve all the enemies’ health and fully heal your team each time. The monster has stun immunity and hold ground too. I didn’t get to try this out and incorporate it into my UC team before this UC but I feel like it can probably be utilised in some way, especially because the monster has link revival too. I’d love to see what people can do with it.
Man that was a close fight! Lots of good sleeps when you needed them and the Delugazar holding on its HP. Not many of us made it to lvl 2000 this time, I’m glad to see they’ve made UC harder. These new gatekeepers seem a little easier too.
Yea, needed a lot of luck to pull it off
Battling realtime teams has made it harder I think, and Gatekeepers are randomly hard & easy,
Plus we didn’t knew about new Gatekeepers which made it possible for fewer players clearing 2000 GK ,
I’ll make a comeback to top 50 next UC, hahaha, if only I had started on time there are some annoying people using poison, most annoying one I faced was that link fire fl with volcavenus, shiva, ash, and hipo.
I complained about UC the past couple of times for it being too easy. This time was the first one with new gatekeepers so people do a tiny bit worse, but I’m really happy to see what the final scores were like this time. The change to matchmaking where we seem to fight players around our leaderboard rank was a brilliant one. I spent the whole of UC facing the top 50/100 players rather than noob teams, some of which with only 8 monsters! I’d say 90-95% of my fights were against these Aurodragon + DR teams, clearly other top ranking players.
I watched the scores at the gatekeepers and people didn’t seem to get stuck, so I know they didn’t really factor into how many people got really high in score. The gatekeepers were almost all easy this time, with the majority being open to fight with stun, sleep or DR without trouble.
So we went from 34 people getting to lvl 2000+ down to 12 people. Previously the top 5 players had total losses: 0, 4, 5, 5, 6. This time the total losses were: 13, 15, 21, 22, 23.
I like this a lot more because there is actually enough to differentiate between the top positions. When 1st place gets 0 losses that’s a bit ridiculous.
Thanks for the matchmaking update! My only minor quibble is that I, once again, learned my lesson about giving up too soon. There was a cheater in the top 3 so I thought there was no point using my last few tickets. However, I would’ve got 3rd place if I did!
Well, I personnaly found really dumb to fight 99% of full same team of Auro+DR mons … I don’t get the point and fails to understand the fun that you seems to had here. It might be harder but it’s never been so boring, more rng related . It’s the first time I found absolutely no fun in UC.
It was lame and easy past 2 times, it was lame and boring this time. Please @Dev_VKC make it just as it was before with various teams, not just the UC team of other people … it would be more relevant to me to take random teams with min cost of 200 for example. That would ensure not to fight dumb 6 mons teams and also ensure not to fitght over and over again full DR shiit.
I do agree with you Kamkam, it just didn’t spoil the fun for me as much as it did for you. I think it makes sense to go against the other teams around your ranking… however, due to the lack of diversity in what strategies are optimal we end up facing similar teams each time. I think things could be made better, simply picking teams with cost 200+ sounds like a good idea.
Perhaps it could go like this:
Every 100 levels (aka 5 battles) it puts us against someone in the top 100. This takes the place of gatekeepers beyond lvl 700.
The other battles, in levels up to 1000, are against anyone.
The other battles, in levels 1000-2000, are against any team with 200+ cost.
The other battles, in levels beyond 2000, are against someone in the top 100 or someone that people have a low win rate against (it alternates between which it picks, so it is fair to all).
I wish I invested more time in UC this time. I passed Gatekeeper 600 on the last day. Didn’t get stuck just ran out of time. Would have been good to see how far I could have gone.
I got no Goldtail, Auro, or nightmare grip monsters though.
