Minespider

So, I thought that if mine spider was the last ark and someone detonated that THEY were supposed to lose. I lost to someone who pulled this trick because they only had a minespider left, detonated it to my 3 arks, and well, yeah.

I don’t see how that’s necessarily fair, but okay.

Isn’t this a bug?

I guess it depends. If it would have killed your 3, then you technically lost to an attack by the opponent even though the opponent also died as a result. It really can be argued both ways. It COULD just end in a tie, but then that would have issues as well (as would not allowing a self-destruct move to be used if it’s the last one left).

The thing is that I’ve tried it before and I lost when I was the one using minespider. So either the game just hates me or then it randomly chooses?

Hm… it could be random. But if it is, I think that should change because that’s not an ideal approach.

That’s the reason I stopped using Minespider close to the end so long ago.

Logically thinking, you’d think that ‘detonating’ means you kill yourself and then the explosion hurts the opponents, meaning you’d kill yourself first. That’s how I see it, anyways. But I do see the argument that it is an attack, etc. I’m just curious as to what the devs intended for this to be.

Knocked-back Minespider is a moment where barricadius shines because if you have other monsters pressuring Minespider with attacks then they would set it off as a last attempt too early.

Note that this only works when Minespider is the ONLY survivor, as Barricadius won’t be able to head-on 2 other monsters.
