Agreed with Hidan here - however bad the drafts are I’ve always managed to make it to 300 (once I relied on the legend but otherwise before this).
I’ve found that following these rules tends to help:
- If you see a stunbomber, pick it - I tend to use at least 3 by the time I’m on c.300 (Sleep bombers with purifiers after work here too but are harder to set up)
- If you see a 1/2* knockbacker, pick it (remus / parasadon) - I ideally have 1-2 of these
- You need a sweeper to kill buffed mons. This means that if you get the option, always pick one of the following:
- 4* Last stand / bloodcrave / bomb
- 5* bloodcrave/bloodthirst/bloodfury/megabomb
- Stun absorber protectors are also great, but you don’t need a good one, 2/1* will do
Other useful non-sweeper monsters include 2/3/4* timestrikers, 4* Survivors, 4/5* protectors, etc (avoid poison).
If you get a stun absorb 2* protector, 3 stunbombers, and a sweeper from the list above, you should make 300 relatively easily. In the unlikely case that you don’t have this by the legend draft, get timestrikers or 0* sleep all dreamhunters to climb as high as you can by the legend draft. Most legends are sweepers so should be able to help.
Priority order is secondary, developing a strategy spot on is what would ‘Always’ get you to 300 cause there would be times when you have to choose 1 good among 3 bad.Just always make sure to click on ‘edit team’ while selecting a draft’s monster.
Well for example you can take a look on my these 2 teams which made it to level 300 in this and in previous IC, I would be glad if it proves to be of some help
My drafts this event is literal garbage til last night. Regardless I’ve still made it to 271 by this morning. Id say I’ve won 30% of my fights or so. Just need persistence and motivation for the 2 RGs.
Pulled 3 0* sleep all/hunters, but that’s useless without either stunner or protectors. I got my first stun option when I was already past 150, and only had a single stun protector (1*) until nearly 200. It got upgraded into a 2* protector yesterday, and only become an epic this morning. My SE drafts were 2 massacres or Sleep/DS for the first and an SE protector/SleepDS/TK for the second. I have not seen a bloodcraver the entire event. The only saving grace is that I had quite a few 4* timestrikers, and finally acquired a dread fish last night to fuel it.
Reached lvl 300 yesterday and was several times rank 1 during this IC.
Some thoughts…
the higher the level the less effective are Sleep-/Protector-Killers. Personally I wouldn’t use them lvl 150 and above
you will have a hard time to reach lvl 300 with poison teams
0* and 1* sleepers working pretty good even at lvl 300.
the success of stun/timestrike teams always depends on if there is a stun protector in the enemy team or not
the earlier you start the event the better. With every new draft your enemies get stronger
This IC was the first time I choose Robinator as first SE, which worked pretty good until lvl 300. But you need to keep in mind that his poison revenge can mess up your sleepers tough.
I feel the draft is very consisent over the days since it doesn´t need much to reach 300 1 SE that can kill stuff is most of the time enough.
I always went with timestrike as main carry and never really had a problem, stun absorbs don´t do all that much since they only absorb 1 stun and go to 500 + and get 1 shot.
It’s probably due to the PvP release, meaning even more simultaneous events overall = more rare gems so they nerfed the rewards. That said, the 60 wins in PvP is not easy to get. You need to win nearly 50% of your battles, so at best only half the competitive player has a chance at it.
I had a breeze on my main account. Then I started playing on a new device 2 days ago with a different account and as of now I’m facing harder teams pre level 100 with 4 and 5 stars wich only started to happen after level 160 on my main accout right after the event started. Now I’m just burning match tries for no reason. I’m assuming that the matchmaking is based on the rank and now that there are alot of ranked players, it’s harder for starters. Does it make sense?
No it’s just everyone has 4/5 stars now for people who bothered to play IC. You can’t match against people who don’t want to play the event, and majority start at least on the first day. The matchmaking does not take into consideration team strength level for IC, only affects buffs.
I’ve had 2x stunners, neither of the knockbackers, and one 4* Survivor (who is mostly useless at 180). That’s it. The rest of my drafts have been poison 4*/5*s and give turner/purifiers with dozens of 3*s (one-on-one’s, survivors, dreamhunters).
The sleep tactic gets you as far as about 150 before it becomes down to requiring huge slices of luck, and often gets wrecked by 4* twinkillers.
So I disagree quite heartily that 300 is possible no matter what. I’ve made 300 every single IC and was #1 in the 3rd event until about 2 hours from the end when I had go out (I believe I finished 7th). Sometimes the drafts are just bad (although this one seems to be taking the piss a bit).
The sanctimonious “it’s so easy to reach 300, I’m so amazing at this game” comments don’t really help (not referring to the one above here which is quite constructive). I’ve no doubt that there are several people on this board who are very good at this game and much, much better than me, but condescending comments about how it should be easy are nothing more than tedious boasting.
Also on the subject of the IC - I have to say I’m very bored by it now. I was enjoying it when it first came out but it’s now just very repetitive. Would be nice to mix it up a little bit and perhaps have a 4*+ only version.
Just to sum up this event, I didn’t even get a legend today. I was coming up against teams with 1 legend, 3-4 SEs and the rest stun bombers and E’s last night. This morning, with only one draft left before the the end of the vent (as the third draft of the day is 1am for me…) I have 3x S£, 4xE, two stun bombers and just the solitary 2* timestriker (who is useless with only two stun bombers and can only hit half damage).
It does feel a little unfair (and I’m sure not the only one in this boat) that the SE and legend draft timings aren’t the same for everyone.
It is the luck of the draw…i remember previously using a team of 2 SE and 2 E mix with a couple of normal monsters to defeat a team of 1 legendaries mix with a few super epics at level 250…><"
