Infernowyrm is the Dragon type monster with the lowest rarity, 3★.
Ever since the Greeks, man was believed to be constituted of three fundamental parts: mind, body and soul.
How do these things connect? With this theory, that explains the whereabouts Neo Monsters’ weakest dragon.
Infernowyrm is located in the 2nd Temple of Timber Island, in a forest with mountains directly facing the sea.
He boasts high attack for its rarity but has abysmal defence. His low rarity and high speed make his HP very low: all in all, Infernowyrm is a very frail unit.
His main killing move is Timestrike, one of the weakest attacking moves in existence. His moveset is the same of many 0★ and 1★ monsters, further increasing his forgettability. That’s something common to a lot of monsters.
Unfortunately, dragons are more intelligent than other species. Contrarily to other low-rarity monsters, who live in peace, blissfully unaware of their weakness, Infernowyrm is an intelligent creature and feels the shame of being the weakest dragon. Even the 4★ dragons, Stratosfear and Apophisking, are still a significant cut above him.
But Infernowyrm doesn’t accept its fate. He knows dragons’ bloodline is one of power and fear. Dragons are destined to greatness, and he is no exception. So, it does the unthinkable: it reaches out to the devil itself.
The devil, whoever he is in the Neo Monsters world, feels the resentment and the heavy burden within Infernowyrm’s soul and doesn’t miss out on the wonderful chance to harvest more suffering. He proposes to the underdog dragon a way to achieve greatness, but warns that he has to give up on something: either his body, soul or mind.
And that’s where the roads split.
-
If Infernowyrm chooses to give up his body, his flesh and blood are the price for great power. He becomes a dragon made of pure energy, like a supernova. Without a physical coil, he can perform actions at incredible speed… With the downside being he dissipates part of his lifeforce everytime. Thus becoming Novadrake.
-
If he chooses to give up his soul, which the devil covets most, his power increases even more. He becomes the most powerful fire dragon the world has ever witnessed. He can move just as fast if not even faster, with the only drawback being his life, without a soul, is extremely precarious. His bond to this world may loosen any moment he uses his powers. Thus becoming Gorgodrake.
-
If he chooses to give up his mind, he becomes a brutal and berserker beast, whose only wish is to kill and kill. Due to him still having his soul, though, sometimes his original self re-emerges, and offers repentance to his allies. Thus becoming Magmarinus.
Now, you may ask yourselves: what does Magmarinus have to do with Infernowyrm? Magmarinus is a lava fish/cetacean, while Infernowyrm is a dragon. What’s the meaning behind that transformation?
The answer is in Timber Island.
You know what monster can you find in the circled area?
Megalorex. This 3★ monster has a full attack statline and also Reckless Attack, which is enough to one-shot the dragon. Therefore, it’s very probable Infernowyrms are taught from a young age to stay away from those dangerous sharks, as one strike from them equals instant death.
When Infernowyrm rejected his ability to reason, in order to become powerful, he thought of the most powerful creature he had ever seen on his island: Megalorex. As a consequence, he morphed into a fire-element megalodon.
Ironically, such a transformation implies his loss of the dragon typing. But he doesn’t know and doesn’t care, as his mind is no more.
