This game has a problem that I’ve seen more and more lately. Currently if a player purposefully lets their time run out, their mon only moves to the end of the line. That could be 80TU, 150TU, 250TU, etc. depending on the situation.
I’ve been running into players who when put into a difficult situation just wait for their time to expire instead of using a turn. In one particular case my opponent knew that by making a move he’d damage my aegisdragon which would have allowed me to purify my team from OoO. Instead of doing this, the player just let their time run out so that that could avoid waking up my aegisdragon. The only punishment for doing this was that their mon went to the end of the TU line (which was small).
Other instances have been when opponents want to avoid using a damaging move to prevent an incoming roaring entrance, or when angelion doesn’t have one of its strong moves available and doesn’t want to purify my monsters.
This is simply bad for the game. I propose a 300TU penalty for this behavior, as the player is going out of bounds of standard play in order to gain an advantage.
When it was 200s penalty it was a bit too harsh for anyone who bugged and timed out. That happening once could lose you the match outright. With it being behind the last monster to get a turn you typically get punished more fairly. As for it being a mechanic people can abuse when they’re forced to attack something but don’t want to… I quite like that and it’s not possible to do in some cases if one monster is stunned (e.g. an absorber that’s been stunned out of play). I find it too frustrating when I’m forced to attack and either wake up or kill something I don’t want to. I much prefer the opportunity to avoid this at times and allowing my opponent to do the same from time to time.
