That monster is working as planned. When the devs referred to it as a curse they weren’t kidding. It’s a legit curse for both the opponent and the user.
Reminds me of Guile a character in the Arcade classic Street Fighter 2.
We could do all sorts of things with that character including freezing the machine turning it off and all sorts of glitches. He was a curse.
