I don’t know much about getting a good rank, but here is my advice:
Play lots, even if you lose and you will learn a lot. The PvP rewards are good so play as many tickets as you can in ranked!
Run lots of stun protection
Run some purify periodically too
Don’t AoE and take out 4 mons at once or you will lose control. This is a good move at the end of a match though, which is why a lot of players end with penguinator or The people’s monster: Moku.
Create deadweight. Leave sleeping monsters, have something to disrupt etc
Speed in FL is generally good.
Don’t place too many slow mons together
Don’t underestimate the value of high defence and speed
Have something that can kill your own monsters. Eg if something is sleeping and there’s no purify, something is on massively high TU, there are tokens you don’t want etc. also good to take care of an incoming stun.
Be creative and you will earn the community’s respect and surprise your opponents, copy everyone else and prepare to be countered hard.
