If you want to compare spending on a game with real life, let’s try and compare with two people going to the pub. One goes and plans to buy 20 pints because he can afford and he really wants to enjoy his drinking. The other one can only afford a free pint he got through a promotion. In the beginning, they are both enjoying their first pint and everybody is happy, soon the first guy is enjoying his second, third and so on, the second guy is just sitting there talking to his friends. After a while, the first guy is drunk, but instead of calling it a day, he wants to carry on. The second guy is leaving, he is going home, his night has wrapped up. The first guy is still spending his money even though he is already too drunk. The beer doesn’t even taste nice anymore, he’s just too drunk to stop. Eventually he throws up, passes out and has a terrible evening. Next day, first guy is hung over as hell, regrets drinking so much, can’t go to work and it’s just a mess. Second guy feels totally fine, wishes he could have had a couple more drinks, but otherwise happy.

It’s a silly story that could’ve gone any other way. The point, and the real life lesson you seem to be talking about so much is: KNOW WHEN TO STOP.

As for p2w having more advantages than f2p, I’m not sure how having a ton of mythics much quicker is not enough of an advantage anyway. Now if you want to be unbeatable by f2p players then you shouldn’t play games or sports. Because you can afford better shoes you won’t run faster than someone who trains more than you.

Perhaps you already come from a wealthy family and you don’t appreciate the struggles in life, I don’t know you or your life’s story, but anyone wanting to be above other people by just spending money needs to learn some real life lessons and perhaps in this regard Neo Monster just taught you one.

Can someone close this thread as it became a place to write too long to read essays about nothing.

To be fair the first post was already a place to end this pointless thread.

Ehy man unfortunately I am not back yet, at least not fully fledged.
But I am working on it, so hopefully I’ll restart my contents when I’ll be back.

But thanks for the nice words!

I am not gonna say much about me and my family but me and my sister are the first ones with a degree in the family tree, so your supposition is totally wrong.

About playing games, well I can tell you by experience that 90+% of gatcha games or games with huge spending behind, top 20 is totally unachievable for F2P. Because the units that P2W people can access are so broken that for a F2P would take years only to make basic versions of it.
Final forms of broken units are totally out of question.

In economics and finance there is an essential classification when it comes to spending your money and generating wealth, it is ā€œAssetsā€ and ā€œPassives,ā€ poor-minded people usually spend their money on Liabilities, rich-minded people spend their money Assets since they generate Passive Income. To simplify the terms, a Passive is something that takes money out of your pocket example: spending on a game, an Asset is something that puts money in your pocket: Business, investments, etc. Spending on a game is not advisable for anyone who has minimal knowledge of financial education. It has nothing to do with real-life problems and frustrations as you say, it’s each person’s personal decision.

only took him a few houers to admit his comeback

We enjoy the game and spending makes it much more fun. Do you think investing in happiness is a bad investment? For you, investing in your hobby and your happiness, for example by taking a trip, is having a bad financial education? what you have to read in this forum is incredible

I am well aware that spending in a game is a liability, and I am fully aware that is not considered ā€œsmart spendingā€ as a matter of fact I don’t advice people to spend on games, I do because I can afford to spend into this liability (I am not trying to flex), and I like being competitive.

Now here is the thing, I can’t pretend to be competitive in a gatcha if I don’t spend on it because I am aware about the fact that power creep is a thing and is NECESSARY.

Neo is simply abnormal under this point of view, P2W spending for fun (that’s plain dumb), F2P being able to take P2W as they roll only for PvP meta monsters, F2P achieving high positions in PvP.

My account is already active, that doesn’t mean I am coming back.

NeoMon isn’t a profitable game to spend on rn.

My ā€œcoming backā€ is linked to many factors, one of them being change of game direction or at least moving the balance towards P2W.

well in that case feel free to walk away and never look back

What is positive about?
Fighting with people that are enjoying the game that they are improving with YOUR money?

i am glad they are using my money to improve the gaming exprience for everyone. me spending money is at the end of the day irrelevent

Good for you, charity is important in life.

I do charity for good causes, not improving a game.

This is the thing I really struggle to understand. Do you want to be the best because you have the skills or do you want to be the best because you won a marathon by driving a car while everyone else was running on foot? How can that bring you any personal satisfaction in a competitive enviroment?
