1st point about waifu being stronger:
The tier list has 13 waifu in A tier or above, 13 waifu in C tier or below (B tier is the middle of the 9 tiers). That’s including Yukihime but not Deviladus or Brynhildr (if they’re included they put waifu below the average). The tier list is currently 31 monsters in A or above and 30 in C or below, so it’s all been balanced around the average and waifu are almost perfectly average.
The tier list is by no means perfect, but as a rough representation of the power level of monsters it does a good display of how the waifu are completely average compared to other mythics.
2nd point about waifu being accidentally hatched:
Do I seriously need to reply to this one? People don’t consistently accidentally awaken certain mythics. This point is making a bunch of assumptions like waifu happen to be aligned more with S+ legendaries without the Devs having any awareness of which legendaries make people spend money more than others (what do you think the marketing do when they look at sales and egg banners!?!).
Now have you got any statements with proper founding?
From my experience seeing lower level players in PvP it’s surprising how many of them will throw random 2nd and 3rd form waifu in their team, far more than other mythics. That’s not much to go on though. We don’t know the full data but the point is people seem more likely to go for waifu than other mythics.
I know you’re throwing my own words back at me. However, I wrote without any personal opinion or anything that could objectively be called offensive. It was misunderstood and I immediately explained myself. No reply from the other side so I assume it’s resolved. Please keep all posts here relevant to the discussion. It was unnecessary for you to hassle me.
I feel like I’m coming across as argumentative, and I’m 100% not trying to, it’s just the nature of typed out messages versus vocal interaction I think. I don’t feel they are in any way making a mistake by featuring the Waifus on Festival Eggs rather than special eggs, but it does help push the numbers towards Waifus being in favor when they are always featured on eggs that give the best possible odds for good monsters in general. If Padrinorca, Magmarinus, and Sobering we’re featured in a Festival Egg with something like, I dunno, Fiona, I guarantee people are not buying that egg for the Waifu, but because everything else is desirable people will spend on it and it will be recorded as proof that Waifus sell more eggs than other monsters do.
Like I said before, this is just my two cents, and I feel everyone is entitled to their opinions, and I respect yours as well.
The fact remains that making them more naked would make people want to buy them more, even if they don’t have op skills. Yet, if you’re someone who is spending like 100 USD on gems to awaken one of these naked waifus, then that means you would be investing time in the game and playing more. This also means that you would seek to have monsters with good skills and not just to stare at in your collection ( cus thats why the monster dex is there). This would all link back to the the solution of making these mythics have more clothing and giving them good skills. As a bonus, you dont need to worry about these lines on their animated skins.
Take majorie for instance. She has a move set that changes the very nature of pvp, yet we see her with just bare underwear. As much as people lust for her, they also want her move set and would probably spend a lot to get her regardless. Therefore I still cant get why she’s like this.
This is where I’m getting at. The devs have the ability to remove that and give you guys one bird with one stone. Yet, they give you guys 2, in this thread the evidence would be majorie.
Guys I’m genuinely losing it!! Why would the Devs release a product the majority of the fanbase DOESN’T want?! Isn’t in a corporation’s best interest to sell a product? Why would the Devs sell waifus if they weren’t profitable!!
It’s a balancing act for the Product Manager. Their job is to help release a product (new monster) that will fit in the long term vision of the company as well as making profits.
All these come with an opportunity cost, do we want more profits in the short run but potentially lose more later on, or tap into new markets (e.g. by designing more waifu the game become less child friendly but more towards certain markets).
How much they value customer loyalty and feedback? And how would this impact spending and retention rate?
In the end of the day, short term profits may not lead to long term success.
I have seen many gacha games that just went for cash grab knowing their product life cycle is about to end. We all like this game enough so we want to make sure the future development is in a direction we would support.
Oh there’s a misunderstanding. I agree with what you said: cash grabs are generally a last-ditch move for (in this case) gachas to squeeze as much as they can from their game
You’re appealing to a fanbase that’s less likely to stay loyal to you (since horny kids might grow out of it, and in general you’re not trying to hook people to your game through substantial means).
My comment was about the fact the Devs are supposedly forcefeeding the waifus to us. The whole concept of a business forcing their product onto their consumer base is something you’d expect from a company releasing AAA titles… Certainly not the developers of a small, niche mobile gacha!
Exactly. This is why I hate some big games. Even if they ■■■■ up, they can do a little bit later but won’t care as much because the name is carrying the game but neo monsters is a VERY small game (especially compared to titans) but has a much bigger community than what the forum has. The player base obviously prefer waifus as sad as that is. I wish they didn’t look boring ■■■■ characters but cool waifus like Gardeb Fairies, honestly.
But what if the company is taking an easy route out . Habituate us with waifus and all they need to do is keep drawing naked women ( no offense but that requires no imagination to draw ) with different hair Colors and undergarments . Now slap some crazy moveset and bingo , same money for less work effectively .
Ultimately , i choose to believe this community is no 2-faced snitches who drool for these waifus secretly but act otherwise in forum . I agree there might be players outside forum who might actually like these designs but it’s very safe to say they don’t have influential numbers or maybe I’m wrong .
Business works far more differently than a simpleton idea of u desire it and I give it . Its quiet the opposite actually : I’ll give and I’ll eventually make you buy it , even for a small gaming company especially when there is no direct interaction between the customers n owners and when there are more anniversaries to come.
you probably do, the company would not act like that without doing an analysis of the market like many others you start, it does not make any sense to do something that will not bring a profit, it is not as if people who study marketing were taking a nap when they decided to do these designs, so I can reaffirm that they are a necessary evil that some people like more than others
Ok, now i can definitely see your point much more clearly. Waifus are basically a way to sell a product that cost way more to manufacture than usual, it’s basically the cheapest you can make.
The fact that we’re getting more monsters in groups (Abyssoldiers, Crystal Worms, Gummy Dragons etc. are all reskins in batches) and also shiny monsters (palette changes) more often than before definitely points in that direction
I don’t have a hard times believing this (waifus all do seem really copy-and-paste) but I am also certain that there’s a demand in the marketplace.
After all, if their aim was exclusively to go for something low cost, why would they go the extra mile and implement something SO blatantly controversial in particular, if it wasn’t something they KNEW would actually sell well?
I understand now what you mean and I think it doesn’t clash with what I initially thought at all, on the contrary I think the two things go hand in hand.
