We continue with the inequality between P2w and F2p thanks to the limitations.

I have a hilarious, non-rocklock team ready for special rule @TNCxXchaosxXf2p

I hope to face it soon :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I do not know they need awake, You need a good team accompanied by a good decision-making

I did not say that it was 100% necessary, however the point is that only a retribution fl does not guarantee anything, to that I add the decision making, the team and the mythical ones help in most cases

Myths are definitely incredibly advantageous in the right hands, but they are still far from being totally necessary.

but they make a difference between two players with equal ability, otherwise I agree

I disagree. What they did with shinies was a flop because of the way it was done… It was the same exact monster, for some reason a different one in your collection, with a different outside appearance. Potions were not transferred so of course people weren’t using them! Now the shinies are just different monsters anyway.

Honestly, if shinies was their plan for cosmetics, I could design a better system with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back! Even in the ‘real world’ people constantly pay for stuff that makes them look more attractive, unique and ‘better’ than before. Talking about video games, I’m really enthusiastic with cosmetic options because I just enjoy playing way more when my character is aesthetically appealing to me.

What they should have done from the start was an element shift -type of thing that only alters the appearance of the monster, not the element. An entire system could be designed around this… Quests/paying some amount of gems to unlock free cosmetic options e.g. some subtle colour changes and the most spectacular ones would be locked behind a paywall of real currency.

Of course unlocking powerful monsters is the most abundant source of income but I’m absolutely sure that people would open their wallets for cosmetics!

Yeah I wanted to refute this part too but I felt too lazy. Also, shinies are a flop because they were locked behind tickets and people had to buy them over the better and unique shop only units. Further more, can we talk about how they chose the worst units to turn into shinies with considerably worse skills? (emphasis on considerably, not totally)
Like: “here is a shiny and an updated moveset with a different element for a unit that was absolutely unusable and somehow even less interesting. What?? did it fail?? then it is this idea’s fault and not the ours for absolutely being lazy”. Imagine if it was Angelion shiny? Bloomeluga shiny? hell since those units are old, let’s pick playable old ones, shiny deathgazer with more emphasis on link, shiny Wraithhost with a better moveset, shiny chromera, shiny soulstealer with camo, etc…

For cosmetics, there are so many cool things they can do, I can’t even begin to imagine. Like we could also see collab skins with other games or hell even anime/shows.

I would pay for a different character model

Yeah, this is awesome and something I can totally get behind.

Like, technically there is no monster locked behind a paywall, but you can unlock a shiny skin for some monsters (that’s activable/deactivable like a Secret Skill) that gives it a unique moveset.

Some could be purchasable with actual money, some available in the shop, some free (for 4★ and 5★)

If all Shiny monsters were like that, there wouldn’t even be a problem with the whole “can’t have two monsters with the same name” that pops up when you put a monster and its shiny version in the same team.

None of my 2pvp teams got hit by this rule or any other rule so far
Thats the only advantage of running stealth or a hybrid rock lock Team

Too bad it’s the best I can do, and it’s not even the real fire Link, it’s a makeshift Link.

Actually, that’s the advantage of less than ten players running that team.
That set up is pretty hard to obtain

I would love to have a team of legendaries that literally no one uses. But sadly my account has legendary goodies that everyone uses, so I have no choice but to ■■■■ myself.

156 messages and I still don’t know how restricting the use of overused powerhouse monsters could harm teambuilding creativity

I’m referring to their original implementation. They were added only to specific eggs and when you hatched the monster it would be 3/4 normal, 1/4 shiny. The shiny one was the exact same moveset and element but had different visuals, so purely cosmetic. @Exu is totally right that its implementation was the major issue (the potions not carrying across), but it’s the closest the game has come to pure cosmetic stuff. At the time, hatching +9 legendaries gave you a 6* pot so the biggest spenders had an excess of them. However, there wasn’t much of a reason to be spending huge amounts (enough to get an excess of pots) and the shiny monsters were not enough of a reason for people to do it… which is the main overall point I was making.

@NoelLemon2 Just one more thing for context… the time these shiny monsters were made was years ago, so the choices of what to make shiny were actually very popular monsters at the time (the only exception being Tridrakhan).

I completely agree with Exu that some form of cosmetic system could be made that would work well. For example, making waifu skins for monsters and monster skins for the waifu. Also, small colour differences like you say (although this may now get confusing between what’s the shiny version of a monster and what’s just a cosmetically changed one - fine for veterans but not for newer players).
