I’ve been struggling to find a way to defeat this battle. I can easily defeat the first Voltiger. When the second one comes out, though, it kills my Hellataur before it even gets another chance to attack. I have tried at least 50 times over the last week, and it’s the same thing every time. The second Voltiger comes in, gets it turn before Hellataur, and takes him out in one hit. I’m not sure what’s going on here. The Freezebear send pretty useless. HALP!
Nevermind… It appears there was a glitch. I uninstalled and reinstalled, them I beat it the first try, using the technique I’d tried the most (the one in the YouTube video).
There’s no glitch, it’s just that Voltiger has got a new passive in a recent update. Hellataur gets stunned more which allows the entering Voltiger to crit it with Timestrike.
It’s still comfortably beatable though. You can bait the second Voltiger to hit Freezebear with timestrike. You can also spam poison touch so that the tigers can’t crit with Timestrike!
Just tried the battle myself. It’s definitely more awkward than it was designed to be. I did it first try by basically spamming poison touch the whole way and letting the first Voltiger die to the poison (I got its HP low with splash and poison touch).
@Dev_VKC Might be worth reconsidering the lineup of this battle.
I initially thought that some recent AI changes might have messed up the battle, but none of the monster AI has been affected for this battle. It’s designed to play this way.
While it may seem tricky, it’s definitely doable without relying on RNG. The key is to use Hellataur’s low TU move (Poison Touch) to avoid being hit by Timestrike.
The skill with the sparkling hint isn’t always the right one to use.
The thing that changed was the addition of single stun revenge to Voltiger. I think previously you could poison eater them but now you have to let the first die to poison tick / your non-Hellataur monster.
I suppose it teaches an extra lesson now, it just looks like a very close finish!
