So today I managed to pull Coldfeather from the festival egg and is ready to evolve to Polareon.
Can you please give me tips and advice on my LU? I have Wraithcaptain, Rosempress, F.D Clover and Soulstealer for my sleep team, but I cannot seem to make a decent LU wherein I can control the field with sleep since I have yet to obtain Goldtail. Hopefully the bonus of getting 6-star tickets when you buy gems will happen again so I can grab him.
I have some stun absorbers as well so idk if they will come in handy since I wanna play my sleep in my first line.
Any advice and tips will do. Thank you so much in advance!
Overall, polareon is one of the worst 6 stars. He’s only really worth using in UC as he does lethal damage, and in some pvp sleep teams to deal with hold ground.
Ooohh, I see, thanks for that heads up! Hahaha, Im so desparate for 6 -start tickets right now I really can’t wait to get my hands on Goldtail, Lemon seems so far away yet huhuhu
Stun Absorbers are key everywhere, especially in FL, so don’t miss out on them.
A nice Sleep FL (mind you, for PvE, as Sleep FLs are hardly viable in PvP due to low speed) would be:
F.D. Iris
F.D. Clover
Soulstealer
Goldtail,
with Wraithcaptain and Polareon following up.
Wraithcaptain and Goldtail are the best sleep Legendaries imo: Goldtail has a mostly bad moveset but Potent Sleep is enough to make her a PvE goddess while Wraithcaptain has an all around wonderful moveset but is slightly more reliant on RNG than Goldtail.
In events such as Ultimate Challenge, Polareon and Wraithcaptain are super handy, the former for Nightmare’s Grip, the latter for Morphean Bomb.
Wow. Thank you so much for this. Aw man, I really need that Goldtail. In the meantime, can I sub my Rosempress for the supposed spot for Goldtail? I really hope that promo appears again lol.
Yes! Rosempress is obviously not as good as Goldtail at Sleep-locking but her moveset is still better than your average Superepic.
70sec Sleep is plenty useful and Sneak Attack is deadly if you have the means to keep her stealthed.
Polareon and Wraithcaptain can both benefit from using monsters that have Pullback/Sendback to retrigger their Entrance Passives. Polareon has Step Back already to do this and Wraithcaptain can Blood Clone, so these guys are pretty self sufficient in setting up their own strategies. Combining Wraith/Polar with something like Cybereon can be effective with Stun Boom, giving you enough time to have Wraith and Polar get their passives off, have Wraith clone, then Polar Step Back to let the second Wraith get in its passive.
For a strategy to pair best with this, the Crescendo Trio are your best friends, Polaboss especially since it helps Polareon with LINK Instant Hypnotize.
Wraithcaptain is very very strong.I used to play some sleep in my teams and this guy would save me or just helpme destroy the enemy.Try making sleep and with a crescendo mon if you have one.Sleeped enemies will allow yourcrescendo mons to setup and before they wake up you’re good plus if any enemy is a problem just sleep him with wraith.I ran wraith with shiva and it was really fun.Overall wraith is a very good mon for pvp and Absolutely good for pve with his sleep bomb thing.I would also put wraith before methathor (keep him 2nd for it’s best) to setup his double dreamhunt and methathor nd form is 8 cost and he can 100% sleep with sleep grenade and also is often underestimated by the enmy before you sleeped 2 of his tmonster and managed to control the field to your advantage. There is also one other monster who is underrated in my opinion for sleep. It is the water bear (I think frozmaw) I keep him in 2nd form to keep costs low and he has a LINK sleep single with 100% 70s (I think) but it is random.if you have very few water monster he can be combined with wraith since wraith makes more water monster and thus activate the LINK restriction.70s 100% sleep is very good to have control and sleep is avery strong strategy but it relies on a bit of luck.i think one big aspect is that many people will underestimate these monsters and the surprise is that they get sleeped very fast.I think sleep is a realy cool strat and you can ask @DMG_Rocketabout his matchs with me and my sleep teams.he said it was very fun
pics of the mons i am talking about:
My advice is not to go balls deep on sleep with all your guys. Use two sleep mons together and you can easily sleep lock the opponent. FD clover is so good if you can make it work! Wraithcaptain too
I think I’ve called Polareon the “worst” in the past. It’s probably more harsh than it deserves. Personally I think it’s better for PvP than PvE. In PvE there are simply much better ways to do controlled kills and the fact it needs other monsters to provide the sleep (for full control) really limits its functionality. The only place I can ever see it being used in PvE these days is for catching monsters.
PvP on the other hand it has dreamy entrance and bloodcrave… hard to fault too much on those. Dreamy entrance is far less reliable these days with plenty of insomnia, poison and a few purify monsters in the meta but if it lands properly then it can be great. If Polareon is allowed to get a turn and you’re in link water then it can really help swing a battle by sleeping another monster. Then you use something else to put a monster’s HP low (or nightmare’s grip if unable) and grab a kill using bloodcrave. After that it does its job killing enemies.
I mean all that said I still think it is F tier. The dreamy entrance is total RNG whether it’ll work properly and it takes some effort to become a sweeper. But it’s definitely a weird one where it can kind of work out well some of the time. It’s worth considering if you’re using link water and want to add in a bit of control to part of the team.
