Three times in a row in 30 minutes
I can’t reveal exactly how the matchmaker works, but that is not how the system works. It is possible to meet the same person in a row, just under very specific circumstances.
We are trying to strike a balance between not matching people up with the same person, and also preventing huge gaps in monsters/ability. This can mean that when you are very highly rated, like most games with a ranked PvP, you will likely face the same pool of players in a single play session as those same players will likely keep playing within the same session as you.
If we just prevented you from playing the same people, eventually you could be matched with someone far below you, who would then be crushed, which I think you would agree would not be fun for either player?
We are constantly tweaking the matchmaker, which is part of the reason for us running the 2 earlier short PvP sessions, and we will be tweaking it up and until the ranked part of the current season based on feedback.
Ah okay, that’s what i was assuming as i never met the same opponent in a row within 30 mins. And no, it’s not fun to meet a low level player, but I’d rather meet no one than the same person every other battle.
But I gotta say, neo has one of the best pvp systems compared to other apps, as it’s real time with other players and not ai. That’s probably the reason I’ve stayed for almost 3 years now. Keep up the good work!
Okay, so you would rather just stomp noobs all the time?
There are a limited number of players at your bracket. Of course you’re not having huge diversity.
This new system is good. Previous one was clunky and 1 match took like 20 mins. Now it’s enjoyable.
I don’t mind being stomped.
Strongly agree despite some flaws this game does have a great Pvp system in real time and is why stay playing
i only played cause the title said pokemon for ios. now i am addicted and cant stop. please help…
Just giving u some extra info to factor in when tweaking the matchmaking mechanic. I understand you try and keep us battling players within our rank, but I think it’s ok to change it up every now and then. I wouldn’t mind getting slaughtered by a ranked 1 player once in blue Moon and I wouldn’t mind slaughtering a newbie every now and then as well. This is how new players learn.
