Questions for the game

There is a valentines event aswell?

Other people gave very lacklustre explanations so I’ll explain the story properly here. Please bear in mind I did it 6-8 years ago (back when it all came out) so might misremember some bits but I think I’ve got most of it correct.

Offline story

You’re the nephew of Hector Finnegan, who was known as the strongest trainer in the land but he murdered a princess and then disappeared (presumed dead). You live in Othlon, where there’s a royal family and a “grand champion” is the royal protector with the other greatest trainers known as the “grand four” who I think also have responsibilities as backup royal protection or something. Periodically, they hold a tournament for people to compete for those titles so that it’s the strongest people in Othlon with the positions. You train and go through the leagues by travelling the islands before beating the grand four and the champion.

Given your lineage, many people are nasty to you but the current champion (Beritus) is very friendly and after beating him he tells you the “dark truth” behind everything. Atrahasis has possessed (or simply threatens) the king and the only way to keep the king alive is by the grand champion feeding Atrahasis with powerful monsters. It’s their responsibility to keep training monsters to feed Atrahasis. Beritus was actually good friends with your Uncle and what happened was something like Hector attempted to fight Atrahasis but he lost and the princess was killed as a result. Hector blamed himself so he left the kingdom and they used him as a scapegoat to hush everything. You basically attempt to do the same as Hector, challenging and then beating Atrahasis. This saves the kingdom and the current princess gives a public announcement explaining everything and saying Hector is innocent. You become grand champion.

Online story

This involves a lot of time travel, learning about the world and seeing other people in the Finnegan family being righteous heroes in their time. It revolves around a “big baddie” with his henchman (team rocket style) trying to gather/beat the “first ones” and you don’t know why but you’re trying to stop him. Ultimately you find out that they’re locking a portal which goes back to earth and this “baddie” was being manipulated by one of his henchman who was someone working for the “black beast” (aka Delugazar) to try and get the portal opened. You travel to earth and defeat it alongside the baddie character.

However, that’s missing out a lot of interesting detail. You see, the true backstory to the game is we are humans that originate from earth. We used technology to build monsters to help us with the planet. E.g. Sentiguard is a security robot, Rosaqueen helps with gardening. This is the origin of many monsters and the idea is it’s like the real world but science fiction where we build robots and AI. Delugazar was built to clean pollution from the sea and to coordinate the complex task it was given high intelligence and the ability to control nearby monsters. It became sentient and decided humans were the pollution so began killing them all. Humans had to escape to other planets. Our planet is one where the humans crash landed and didn’t keep their technology so had to start over, which is why you see ruins of spacecraft across the land.

The ending of the story was a teaser for Delugazar, which then came out on the 2nd anniversary and was a meta-changing power house. Chapter 7 teased “the black beast” so we had to wait until we got chapter 8 to see it and it made Delugazar highly anticipated.

Post-game story

This was released after the online story was finished, which is why I’ve placed it afterwards. It also kind of spoils the whole origin of humans on our planet plotline.

Othlon gets attacked by people from another planet, the Khanate, who are a military-focused empire that seek to dominate and enslave other planets. They do a show of force which you battle against but their true goal is to find and take your best fighters to participate in their inter-planetary tournament. You go and fight in that and do battles with some pre-set teams (your allies) and find out the losers of the tournament get their planets destroyed by a big space laser. The winners will be forcefully brought into their army and population. You join an internal rebellion (within the Khanate) who want to destroy the laser but later that’s foiled as you find out there are insiders who allow the rebellion to grow only to crush it.

However, the Khanate are developing a new super weapon to use for destroying planets which is a monster that releases deadly poison gas (Maggatsuoh). It gets out of control and you have to take it down yourself. The whole experience humbles the empress enough she agrees to put an end to the planet destruction and return you all home.

Similar to how the online story teased Delugazar, this story teased the release of Maggatsuoh and it came in the Halloween egg of the 3rd anniversary but I think it underwent some tweaks and so wasn’t quite a dominating and exciting monster like Delugazar was.

Thanks :+1:

@Killerdog Does the secret reward in the okkults invitation change?

It sometimes does. But it’s usually something super scrappy like we got this time around as well.

It goes from a weak reward like this time (3x SE potions) until an Alterramid.

I had forgotten so many plot points. I wish there was a hell mode for the entire story so we could play it again!

What are the chance of it being useless and not being useless?

Wait so the reward rn is just 3 super epic potions?

Yes.

Well that sucks… But how often is the reward useless? And how often is it useful?

never useful, if ever. more useful isn’t exactly reaching ‘useful’

But do they give legendary ingredients?

pyramids, only the element ones.

Ones it was 9 epic pots lol

So in other words… The okkults invitation event is only good for achievements

You get 2 leggy pots from the sleep immune and omni immune cases. So it’s good for 2 quick legendary pots

In the past it has been things like 3 gems, 1 rare gem and a legendary potion. I think those were the best rewards. We also got a few rare ingredients like I think it’s been an Ocarino and an Alteramid one time each.

Most of the time it’s not something with much value, so just take it as a bonus when it is.

Secret reward in this event should be for completing a full event and called: Completion Reward - if they want to give 3 SE pots in the middle of finishing the event then they should completely remove it as it only annoys me when I click on it and see how trashy it is.
