PvP Pairing System Fraud (The Neogate)

Relatively new player here. So you lost interest in neo beacause of mythic system or because of their art(humanoid/hoe mythics)

Mythic system, removal of guaranteed packs, the slutty waifu designs and the lack of new content. With the mythic system, its clear that the gap between F2P and P2W has widened and with the removal of guaranteed packs, it has widened so much. Then there’s the stuff that the community has been asking for years but still not given so yeah. You’ll understand the other aspects once you’ve exhausted your love for Neo.

Off topic , i dont think most of u should do “test” teams . Cos in ranked , u all inevitably use same S+ teams anyways. What’s the point !

They just wanna experiment until they find a team thats better than their standard team.

Testing is a procedure mandatory to gain knowledge of strategies, if you don’t when your monsters get nerfed you are cut out.

After investigation, we found out that the issue is mainly caused by pvp matchmaking due to the recent growth in player base. The amount of PvP players is double in the last few months.

There are 3 tiers in pvp: pro, main and beginner. You match the players with the similar elo (you can take it as a hidden win rate) in the same tier most of time. Players will NEVER go down to the lower tier, but can advance to the higher one temporary if the players are performing very well in their own tier.

We reset everyone’s elo to certain value at the start of each pvp and ranked pvp, so losing purposely doesn’t give you advantage. But the current setting is not accurate enough for the amount of the pro tier players nowadays. We will adjust that, and add more different factors to the matchmaking in the coming pvp.

We also notice there are players trying to stay below 100 hero rank in order to stay in the lower tier of pvp. This will be fixed too.

Fun fact: In the current pvp, winners only match winners; losers match losers. So any winning/losing streak means something.

So basically the people on the lower end of what should be the “pro bracket” are being placed into the middle bracket for ranked PvP. The people who lose lots manage to be in this group. They then spend ranked PvP in this middle bracket, rising into the pro bracket once they have been winning lots.

Is that about right?

This pretty much describes what people were thinking but the reality of what’s going on behind the scenes to cause this is not what we expected!

As for the fun fact… now I feel a lot worse for losing two matches in a row lol.

I don’t understand why the PvP system needs to be kept hidden like this? Why not publish the rules and conditions in game in some info tab?

Well, as long as guaranteed punishment isn’t handed out to transgressors, making the matchmaking system public will probably make it more exploitable.

What I am confident there is a valid reason for but still don’t understand it is the fact moves’ damage multipliers and their intricacies are hidden.

It could make it more exploitable but on the other hand it would force devs to address these exploits. What they’re doing now is the least work for them which I understand, but I’d rather want to actually fix the exploit instead of masking it. People are going to figure it out at some point, as already happened with this one.

Bracket? Do you mean the 3 tiers I was talking about? Players can only go up to higher tier, never go down. We don’t touch players’ tiers. They are tied with their account progress, for example, hero rank.

Let’s take those players MementoMori mentioned in the first post as example. No matter how terrible their win rates are, they will always be in the pro tier bracket, same as other top players.

But with more players eligible for pro buckets, they have higher chance to match the players with similar win rates than before. i.e. They have higher chance to meet the people on the lower end of pro bracket for the first couple games.

Because we keep trying many different things for pvp in order to optimize the pvp experience.
Therefore, we will only share the info we think is important and are confident. And yeah, not to make it exploitable is one of the reasons too.

It is true that the PVP pairing is uneven, look at I am rank 92 and they put me against people of rank 100 or more and that is annoying why they have an advantage over me for cost


For me it must be the match by rank and not by victory rate since some are or are not superior to me have an advantage over the cost

Ok… But why did no top players matched them until the 3rd day… And why their Rating points gain in the first 2 days was the equivalent to a 85 % WR and then it dropped to about 50 in the 3rd day because they rating didn’t increased… Obviously they were being paired with weaker opponents or their accounts are not pro tier so they only enter the pro tier after having a massive win streak in the advanced tier which is really no match for them either way there is som issue with the classification of players into this tiers… Maybe is based on their intentionally low HR joined to the intentional loosing exploit either way THIS NEEDS TO BE PUNISHED SOMEHOW is simply not fair at all for the rest of us

Well I think I have solution to this that is completely changing how pvp matchmaking works.Its to make leagues and I think 2 or 3 leagues for a season like bronze silver and gold for a season and the players climb from one season to another by winning and taking the required ranks like getting top 50 in bronze league to promote to silver league and there is ofcourse rewards for each league will increase significantly like bronze league having to get 5 gems normally and top spot getting 5 gems and a extra items and increases from then to gold league having rewards as 20 gems or more .this’ll erase the exploitation of the current pvp

Is not that simple to get a wr high enough by only playing ranked. As you said before, those cheaters start losing a lot after they reach 120 wins,now, as a %, while you have less than 100 matches, your wr will be increased/decreased 1 point each game BUT, over 100 games you’ll need to win/lose more than 2 games in order to get your wr 1 point higher/lower, and the amount keeps increasing as long as you keep playing. These cheaters lose a loooot having more than 120 wins. When ranked PVP comes they have played more than 200 games already, so they’ll need too many wins to get a significant increase of their WR. I guess that’s the reason why they only face top players the 3rd that, and not the first two.

I think you are on purpose, not leveling you up so you can get an easy opponent. as discussed by dev vkc
