And Holy has always been the worst element. They have 0 good link combinations

Seems like they correctly identified the issue and fixed it. Novem and Infernicorn are still very good.

I would prefer they choose the best and coolest mythic the world have ever seen; mythic among mythics

Yes. They are great identifying and destroying/banishing/you’ll-never-see-it-again issues. That’s something I can agree with

I think link fire still could have potential, but the reason why it’s less popular now is the fact that link water has gained so many powerful monsters and water is a direct counter to fire. Link storm isn’t as strong in comparison either.

See. I’m a link player. I’ve run every link for years. I used fire a lot and also water link. I even have a pretty good thunder link. This you mention is no problem not only for fire, but also for every element.
A good link can defeat anything.
-Holy: it’s simply trash. Too many shadow monsters means nothing. Actually, not only holy, every link does well until they find a Nova AOE fl. It’s a classic.
-Earth: the best monsters to make combinations kill nothing (all the throw back and mortar monsters).
-Shadow: need more monsters but it seems devs have noticed this and the element has become much better lately (still needs more).
-Thunder: Just excellent and with the coolest combinations after water link.
-Water: has everything you could wish for.
-Fire: dead after Magmarinus. Then @NMEduck managed to revive it a little bit with a certain and specific combination and there was a little spark for the flame it once was, but now it’s dead again.

Magmarinus and Infernicorn are to fire what Gyo is to water. Can anyone imagine water link without Gyo? It loses all the beauty. When you think of water the first thing that comes to your mind is probably Gyo, and the same was for fire in the past with Novem, infer and magma

How can u forgot cele,toad?

:joy::joy:Cele is certainly as important as Gyo but since the main topic was fire I didn’t want to get top much into water

u forgetting jerbo

I think Infernicorn was always the most important link fire monster. Magmarinus was fantastic in the end game since it was fast, dual slayerbane did immense damage and then you could get a few kills with berserk smash. Also infinite repent was quite insane. But the lack of aiming has always been a big downside of his.

for me the most important ones were Ahuizard who has been made redundant by power creep. Spikieblaze who is still dope and underrated and ofc the Beetlebrute Firequeen endgame

Guys Ash is the most important fire mons. Fire also have some good new mons but what it lacks is few good sweeper.

Thanks for sharing this @Dev_VKC

The interesting things I get from this:

  1. Water was super popular, despite storm being its counter and that was being played by 1/4 of opponents. It shows that water link is not pushed out by that much!

  2. Storm numbers may be inflated a bit by the popularity of water, but it’s clearly doing fine as a link element as it always has done. The stun nerf has likely knocked it off its pedestal, or maybe the strong shadow and water monsters have surpassed it.

  3. Shadow numbers are always inflated by its accessibility (the Novadrake AoE we know and love) so it’s hard to pick apart here but good to see it not being overrepresented in the top 300 players at least.

  4. Fire I’m pretty sure is doing fine but it matches up poorly against the (nearly) 1/3 people playing water, especially since poison moves are not the strongest and things like Infernicorn become useless. It also simply hasn’t been popular in normal PvP for a couple of years and had very few new monsters come out over that time too so this result doesn’t surprise me one bit.

  5. Earth is genuinely surprising, with fire so rare and storm fairly common you’d think it’s a good time for earth to shine. I guess it must be that it doesn’t match up well against what the other link elements are doing, e.g. every setup being quite low speed. Ultimately, probably a pretty big indicator that link earth needs some love.

  6. Holy at the bottom, as usual, for link has been the way for the last 5 years. As others have said, I think it’s entirely down to many of the best holy monsters being solo and there’s almost no link payoffs that you’re basically pushed away from using them as a link team. I think this is a missed opportunity. Nova AoE no doubt makes people afraid to try link holy in this special rule but if the element had enough versatility it would be able to handle this. I mean, storm was just as popular in the top 300 and look how many people used water!

at the moment the only semi-reliable nova counter in holy is heavenshorn.

like i suggested earlier giving prismpaw piercing would also make him a counter.

a high speed toxic killer could also be a potential solution to take out toad.

We agree. But it seems that this is not the case for the devs who limit it to 1 every 1 seasons

ā€œItā€ in that quote = ā€œlink fireā€, not Infernicorn. The Infernicorn mention was just for the previous sentence where I said it was useless at killing water monsters.
