🏆 Neo Monsters tier list (see first post) 🏆

Haha don’t know if you’re commenting on the colourful formatting or the code itself but thanks. You can use triple ` the line before and after the code to make it look like that (just like in discord). If you ever want some C# or SQL help then feel free to message me on the forum. I’m self taught and always looking to challenge myself to learn more and figure out the best ways to do stuff.

For your effort, I’ll definitely do some tier list work tomorrow (Sunday). Today will be the last bit of video recording.

I was referring to the code itself :relieved:

Thanks, I’ll call when in need of C# wisdom!

Update

Notes:

I haven’t updated this in a long time so what I’m doing is three updates. This is the first, re-vamping the HP boost section. Next will be moving all the monsters around. The final one will add all the new monsters into the tier list.

So this update is to do with the HP boost change in version 2.42 which you can see here
HP boost changed from +1000HP to all into +500 for mythics, +1000 legendaries, +2000 everything below and now it can be moved around for 1 million silver.

HP boost changes

Legendaries...

A → S: G.F. clover
B → A: Aurodragon, Dolphariel, G.F. mizu, Megaiasloth
D → A: Arboribratus, Jurlungur (forgot about these initially)
D → B: Caesardragon, Capybaragon, Drakozord Z, Gryphking, Jack-o’-scorp, Leogeist, Magmagund, Otomaid, Rexterminator, Skeleviathan, Tardigrenade, Wolhammer, Wraithhost

Super epics...

This only had 3 noted: A.S. myst, Mapledragon, Vulpink. It’s now been expanded into the similar S, A, B, D tier structure. The only change to the old list was Mapledragon S → D.

The one bit I want to note is that the crystal worms I’ve purposefully skipped the earth one because it’s not crucial to the setup and I was torn between putting them in S or A tier. Reason being, you probably need to boost most of them to get the benefit so it’s a huge investment. They’re clear S tier in a bubble, so I settled on that.

S: A.S. fokus, A.S. myst, C.W. ater, C.W. caeruleus, C.W. flavus, C.W. purpureus, C.W. roseus, Dreadmoth, Jocodragon, Megalodragon, P.G. neromid, Saberzor, Shieldragon, Vulpink
A: A.S. antistan, A.S. breaker, Akhekhion, E.D. hvit, E.D. rod, F.D. clover, F.D. salvia, Gentleowl, P.G. banamid, Scarleguard, Sharkrex, V.D. delta
B: Buffbuffalo, Fluffydra, Gearcroc, G.D. banana, G.D. blueberry, G.D. cranberry, G.D. lime, Keeperdragon, Lordstag, Purpie, P.G. lavamid, Rhinotitan, Turbotusk, Wavetail, Willowyrm
D: Everything else

Epics and below...

Worth of consideration: Diamonoid, Gandalfrog, Helldactyl, LeBroid, Meatoid, Musashoid, Platybeak, Rockoid, Sherloid

P.S. @DMGInterference I was going to lump this in with the other changes but when you inspired me to do some tier list work this weekend I decided I could get this out as a separate thing. I also said I’d time things… took about 4 hours to do this.

so has wavetail just been made completely redundant these days?

:man_bowing:t2::man_bowing:t2:

Zomboid as it rebirths with the boost on the spot.

How do you mean?

Yup, it’ll definitely go in there! I haven’t added the new monsters into HP boost yet

mapledragon dropping to d tier is ■■■■■■■ devestating,it hit me a bit :pensive:

never see it. thought it might have been a decent hp boost choice. it used to be a semi decent choice for PvP. Ahuizard also.

I hp boosted it. Becomes much stronger when doing boxlox

For HP boost specifically. The monster is still pretty fine for PvP, but it doesn’t get much benefit from HP boost any more.

Very true. I was thinking how this was too niche but given how much better it is for this strategy when it has extra HP it’s worthy of B tier (B only because it is niche). I forgot it had full defence, thought it was rounded or standard defence. I’ve added it there now.

It is a very specific setup after all. I used Christmas rockoid and tinker to get this going and if you have a very good control it’s always guaranteed. The thing survived electric dolphs retribution which was a nice sight

Where is cw viridis?

I am already try them ,I am also make video about them (boosted).

I know they are good + tanky, but i feel like boost hp them kinda questionable since they eat each other. Normaly we boost hp monster if they have high survivability .

Shiny serazael is very good to boosted, its tanky like Bastia, its survive againts hadeshoof blitz attack

I wrote a note about that in the post.

I agree, although if you HP boost 1-2 it’s very obvious to the opponent those are what you plan to keep as a sweeper. I reckon you want ~4 HP boosted. The ones to skip I think are Ater and Viridis, but I decided to still list Ater in the tier list because other people may decide a different one to skip.

Oh man. I still feel like C# is like if C++ decided that Java was its personal hero.

But man if it doesn’t make nice-ish looking UIs with minimal effort.

Haha my company uses React to create fancy graphs and UI, very much Java being the hero. C# is just for the number crunching, but it looks pretty in the code even if it’s not being shown on the front-end. That said, python was the first coding language I learned and that is soooo much prettier!

Thanks guys for the posts about HP boost. Does anyone have strong opinions about where new monsters should be placed? I’ve got video editing to do so can’t promise when the next updates will come out but some of the new monsters I’m not 100% on so would appreciate any input

I went the other way round— I learned Java first, then later picked up Python in grad school. And I immediately vowed never to use Java ever again, lol.

Also, to answer your request for input on the new monsters, I’ll say Xanacorn is either E or F. Built around a stun move that was immediately rendered obsolete by the stun update. Cyclophenia I put at B, maaaaybe A. She is slow but very sturdy. The available moves are totally random but all of them are relatively useful. I think in practice she works better that it seems like she should on paper.

Thanks for the input, sounds a lot like what I’m thinking. Xanacorn is one I’ve gone back and forth on a little. It performed really well when I met it during the special rule this season. I feel like in link storm teams it can realistically do the link stun pulse for the first kill then either on that first or second turn the instant link stun flash can set up the second kill so it can, within 30TU of the first turn, grab two kills and begin doing void bloodthirst. That’s a super high ceiling! The issue is that if the opponent has a stun counter then it’s absolute dead weight. I think on balance it ends up reasonably high, but the very strict restriction to link storm and it overlapping with a lot of stun that exists in storm means it’s very niche so that pushes it lower. E-F feels too harsh, but it’s one I’m struggling the most to settle on the right tier for.

i feel like its around C-A tier, while does well in its required teams,it still overreliant on specific teams to be top tier.
