[Need Feedback] Super Epic monster cost revamp

I think everyone is reacting this way because if this were to be pushed through, essentially us players are impacted negatively with the cost of very popular mons having their costs increased and thus screwing up our lineups. The only upside to this is the opportunity to get new epic/SE mons…but we’d have to pay for them. A slight “pro” for a huge “con”.

With that being said…I do think adding in some new SEs in the 11-12 range would be a good idea. It’s unfortunate that if our lineup is at 194-195/206 with one slot left, we’re limited to using a 10-cost or below mon and therefore missing out on the remaining points.

You could also give a few existing SEs secret skills to bump up the cost there. Perhaps the really weak SEs that nobody even considers using in a team. But I think that increasing the cost of existing popular SEs would negatively impact the game and be a sore spot in the dev/player community relationship.

The rest of the stuff you say is all very much correct. However, I don’t think it’s necessary or a good idea to add secret skills to SEs. SEs are typically designed so they are less flexible or well-rounded and having 4 skills plus usually less passives helps with that. I like secret skills being unique to legendaries and I think all SEs can be redesigned if necessary to make them work.

The power creep comes from legends not super epics. If anything should go up in cost then it should be certain legends

Jackal
Cobra
Robin
Sear

All changed the meta when they came out. Someone debate me and tell me that I’m wrong

Sear not so much. As jackal & cobra did, robin at second place for me

Cobra hands down. That mofo killed stun and brought about the reign of poiso, and further set up the link water powers we have now, and will be crucial whenever the OP poison water monsters are released later this year.

But power creep and meta changing are separate issues. The OP legends are indicative of power creep.

The innovative meta changung SEs are just that - strategically significant monsters that made us rethink strategy without being unkillable or OP in their own right.

I wont go into any examples of OP legends that haven’t changed a meta, though, because any time you try to say something is OP you just get slammed.

Separate note tho, Gyo did at least restore some of the 1on1 meta this last PvP. And I’m not saying Gyo is OP.

When sear came out he was the only chrome killer beside raizen. He change the game. If you didn’t run him 5 back than you was losing the match major of the time

Hmm, at that time I didn’t played that much PvP, you’re right I guess

It actually was out for a few months prior to raizen so yeah it deffs changed the game a lot same with robin they shifted teams around for ages as they both countered the aegis and Leo lead meta very strongly

He didn’t change the meta like chromera did but he was in nearly 100% team after his first release which was in ic noneless. Player had to start pushing back leo and he started the quick decline in epic give turn usage.

Chrono killer didn’t even kill leo the first few months of it’s release
